Default this was embarising!

ok so im on the interstate minding my own business, when this trailblazer starts messn with me about a 02 model i guess, well i get on it i drop it in second gear and jump ahead then i throw it in drive and then he comes up right beside me and is staying with me till i hit about 85 and i start pulln on him, but the only motor i know that comes in those trailblazers is the 4.2 inline 5cyl and that was against my 99 durango 4x4 360 v8 with an CAI 180 statand e-fan, my ride must be out of shape what do yall think?

2002-2004 Trailblazers

2002 4.2L I6 - 291hp
2003 5.3L V8 - 302hp

It's an inline V6, not 5cyl....

The GM 5300 Vortech V8 is not a 327. It's a 325......

Even the 4.2 I6's are no slouch. They're rated at 270 hp. And if it had been an SS, it would've raped you. They have LS2's.

Yeah, the SS's have the 6.0LS2 from the Vette and GTO. They're rated at 390hp. Low 14's from the factory. A simple intake and tune really wakes them up, too.

And the 5.3 being a 325 surprises everyone. Just like how the LS1 isn't really a 350. It's a 346.5 cu in.

I'm pretty sure the new Hemi is a 345, but I could be wrong on that one. Plus I thought I remember hearin how it made 1 horsepower per cubic inch, just like howthe 331ci Hemi was the first mass producedengine to do so.

1964 327 solid cam fuel injected was the first domestic production engine to make/exceed 1 hp per cube 360 hp@ 6000 rpm 352 ft/lb @ 5000, 1958 Chrysler 392 345 hp@ 4600 435 ft/lb @ 3600, 331's were in the 225-300 hp range and thedual quad 354's were340 hp.

I just did a mass air tune ona client's 5.3 GMC pick up and we smoked a hemi magnum 55-100 and 70-100, leaving me thinking I can't wait till hp tunershas dodge support.

I have to politely disagree w/ you here. The 331 cu in Hemi at 331 hp used in the 1957 Chrysler 300 was the first mass-produced engine to reach the 1hp per 1ci. GM's 283 Fuelie w/ 283 hpin the 1958 Vette also beat the the 327 you speak of.
