Default Craftsman leaving the truck series after '08

Craftsman will be leaving the truck series at the end of the 2008 season. That makes all three top NASCAR series with new sponsors. So much for longevity. Maybe Subway sandwich will take sponsorship. They almost had the Busch series to sponsor but Nationwide took sponsorship. The truck series is an awesome race series to watch. Red

Subway, Nationwide, Sprint............Winston, Busch, Craftsman. So much for the macho image of a NASCAR driver. Say hello to more falling attendance and lower TV ratings.

It has just gotten way too expensive to sponsor these race series. They find sponsor dollars and after several years (less in some cases) they leave to refocus their advertisement channels.

As for the Toyota’s screwing up the truck series, I don’t understand the comment. If you can look back to when Dodge was returning into NASCAR, everybody said that Dodge is a German company, what are they doing in this sport. Can you imagine NASCAR today without Dodge?

Back to the original start of this thread. I don’t know if Subway is even going to pursue the series. Wal-Mart was also very interested in the Busch series before Nationwide took it. Who knows what the truck series will be called in 2009. Red
