finally raced a hemi today
lined up against a black hemi today. looks pretty good. i knew the guy somewhat from the local carwash, and he always said i wouldnt stand a chance, so i finally raced him. lets just say that he wasnt talking anymore trash after i beat him by 5-6 truck lengths. his mods were a functional ram air hood w/ cai , a new tune, and dual 50's. i had a little more respect for the hemis before i raced one, but now i can see how all the magazine articles are so true about the nissan titan knocking on the big 3's doors. now all i have to do is beat a ss[:'(], then iam set. iam a little worried about that one though. in my opinion though, the hemi sport is one sick looking truck. i love the way the black ones look. but in my eyes, the styling with the new titans are the grand slam.
The Titans are pretty sweet. Me and my dad test drove a fully loaded white one [sm=hail.gif] It was better compared to my aunts fully loaded QC. Ride was way smoother, more space in the second row, less compartment noise, etc. I'd still buy a Ram though!! Those Titans are quite expensive....plus the Ram looks better next to my Viper.

ram are better looking cars on the exterior, but i gotta give Nissan credit for the interior. it blows dodge out of the water. i would still buy a dodge though, but the titan is a nice piece of machinery unlike the fords.
the VK56DE engine is a nice engine, but so is the Hemi. In many ways, the Hemi is better, but the same can be said about the VK56DE engine in the Titan. I guess its a win win situation for the buyer, since nowdays you really can't go wrong with buying a truck, or any car for that matter.
Nissan's choice of materials as well is slopping build quality is what's keeping me from purchasing a newer Nissan sedan. I sure hope that Titan doesn't suffer from the typical (1995+) nissan thin paint that scratches and chips easily.

And by 5-6 car lengths....you meant 5-6 inches...(maybe) right??? If you actually beat him by that much(which I highly doubt) there must have been variables, as in bad driver, you got the jump on him, he spun, he wasn't actually racing(most probable answer).

I had to pry a Titan out of one of the injectors in my SRT-10. It got sucked in when I returned his "rev" at a stoplight. That was good because I finally got to see what the back of one looks like. Until then, I had only seen the front of one fading in the distance in my rear view mirror.
