Why is this area of the forum empty?????
That may well be a closer weight range, but as much as I love the looks of the car and the raw power, it is a brutal and heavy beast. I never understood why car magazine writers said the old muscle cars were straight-line cars, but after driving it I know. Who in their right mind puts leafs/coils on a sports car?Hit a bump under moderate throttle and it jumps and slips like a snake. I love the car, but Chrysler didn't make the thing for handling. Point it in a straight line and mash the throttle.Don't ask for any sudden course changes, the rear end is waiting to take the lead.
One more thing; without power-braking, he has blown the rear tires out. That's why I voted for the new Challenger in that poll. These old cars are wonderful to see and hear, but I wouldn't want to live with one. Massive power and no practical use.
i daily drive my demon in the warm months...manual steering, manual brakes, no radio, race seats and harnesses...i dont think that there is anything wrong with daily driving it...although, mine has front and rear sway bars and KYBs...so it rides a little better than a stock demon...or so id imagine.
Anyone know where a 70 Charger RT front clip might be lying around? He took the car back a couple months ago for a carb tune-up and the fellow who built the engine DIED while it was at his shop. The family claims not to know what happened and Ron is too dead to know. The whole front clip and bumper are GONE! Even the repro parts places only sell 68-69 Charger front clips. WTF? His car is missing it's nose!!!!!!!!
