dodge ram quadcab hemi vs nissan titan
ORIGINAL: QuickSilver05
Oh, and by the way, IMHO, the extra tenth of a second comes no where close to making up for the Titan's ugly factor.

And most Hemi's are modded anyway...I'd love to eat one for lunch[sm=gobble.gif]
Ok...first the HEMI that you have is a wannabe HEMI (nothing like the "real" HEMI from the 60's)....
Here is a quote from Car and Driver on a comparo they did on the 5 full size 4 door pickups
"Those who have to ask about “Hemi†won’t understand the full glory of it. But they’ll get picture enough the first time they boot the right pedal and hear the pagan howl. The Ram can’t quite match the quick Nissan, but it easily opens daylight on the others: 0 to 60 in eight flat, clearing the quarter in 16.2 seconds at 86 mph......

Oh one more thing...If you think about even taking the American vs. Foreign route....let me tell you somthing....
1..Being a truck driver that works for a company that is Chryslers #1 truck load carrier.....the TITAN is more American made than any Chrysler product on the road!
Chrysler has more parts being made in Canada and Brazil than in the USA. Not to mention you may want to look where your RAM was assembled. If you have a 1500 quad cab, it was either assembled in Fenton, Warren...or MEXICO..if you have a 2500..definately Mexico
2. Daimler...last I checked that was German...need I say more!
......and dont go mentioning that you "smoke" titans all day long either...alot of rams have mods which are needed to get the performance the TITAN has from the factory...and the new ram mega cab is a direct response to what Nissan did when they designed the TITAN in 03...So who is following who???
Towing capacity?? Give me a break.....the TITAN is #1 in its class for towing.

blah blah blah...go take your junk ricer truck elsewhere troll...
and stop being such a magazine racer douchebag. do you have timeslips to support the fact that your truck is faster than a hemi?
To hell with this class nonsense...you wannabe ford owners need to quit with the magazine quotes. if you want a truck that is going to pull alot of weight, at a fair pace, you buy a diesel, not a hemi, and the cummins diesel, and the eventual mercedes diesel will likely be stronger than the cummins, and if youre going to compare towing capacity, the cummins shuts your mouth, with authority.
yes, daimler is german, excellent detective work. I love how ricertruck owners spout off about the dodges being german owned...but i see nothing wrong with hundreds of years of automotive excellence backing the dodge name.
by the way, get your *** back in that truck you union slob...business is good.
btw, i dont own a hemi truck, and never will...but i do have a built ram that would pound your ricertruck.

Not another Ram vs. Titan thread.
Titan's faster stock, Ram has better aftermarket. Let the aftermarket catch up and it's all over for the Ram.
Oh, and the Ram has 20" wheels and lousy gears, so everyone stop using that as an excuse.

the titan is faster than the QC 4wd ram, stock...ive seen a stock hemi ram damn near the 14s...the titans that ive seen were in the 15.30s...or around there...

If you really the think the Mega Cab is a response to the Titan, you are dreaming. How do you make the correlation? The Titan Crew Cab doesn't even compare to the Mega Cab - in truth, no truck does. Dodge did it in response to people's want for a family size truck.
As for towing capability, load your Titan up with 9900 lbs and I'll show you a shredded Titan rear end and fading brakes lol. No person in their right mind tows anything near the max towing limit of a half ton. If they do, they are stupid. See, you as a Titan owner have to emphasize the tow rating more than Dodge, Ford, and Chevy owners. Why? Because Nissan does NOT make a heavy duty truck. So, their claim to fame is a 9900 lb tow rating. Whereas me, or a Ford or Chevy owner can be a 3/4 ton with a diesel, and make 9900 lbs look like it is not even there. When Nissan makes a 3/4 ton diesel, then you can argue towing capabilities

As for which truck is more American, I'd pose this: look at the grille of your truck, and you'll see a Japanese Rising Sun symbol with Nissan on the front. You won't see such things on a Ford, Chevy, or Dodge. The profit Nissan made on your truck didn't go to the factory worker in Mississippi who failed to fill the differential with the correct fluid (like they did on the 04 Titans). I went to Nissan corporate (in Japan), and it trickles down from there. Dodge has over 70 years of full size truck building experience. Nissan has 3. Next question lol
How do you think I would fare against a 2006 Nissan Titan?
I have a 2003 Quad Cab Hemi w/ 17 inch tires and a 3.92 limited slip from the factory?
My buddy wants to go to the drags & i don't want to be left in the dust!!!

Guys I know that Im new to this forum, but I think that this titan vs hemi issue is a little to serious. They didn't build these trucks to race(although Im guilty to), they are built for work mostly. As for the titan vs hemi subject, I own an 05 Daytona and have come into contact with fords, chevys, and nissans, and I have found that the only truck that clearly challenges the Hemi is the nissan Titan. I have won some races agenst titan owners, and I've lost some races, but all of them were very close. I agree with one of our fellow members, driver error has alot to do with it. The titan is 1 tenths of a second faster 0-60 but the quarter mile times are the same. A Hemi driver would need to be fast off the line and maintain his speed through out the run, because the titan suffers a bit on the top end. Tire spin is also an issue, the less the better. Chevy has come out with the vortex max, and they're pretty fast to. They rate them at around 367hp so a race with them will have to be on point with minimal driver error. I love my truck, but the competition is getting very tight. This is good for us because that means that dodge will have to increase the performance of the hemi to stay ahead of the other guys. All of us should be proud to be the owners of Ram Hemis, because everyone usesthe hemi engine as a bench mark when it comes to performance.
It took a long time for them to build a truck to compete with the Hemis, but they will never build a truck to compete with the SRT-10.The FORD LIGHTNING, and CHEVY SS were discontinued because of SRT-10.The only thing that stopped the contiuence of the truck was it's price. Also you must understand, in a resent study from truck trend where they compared the chevy, ford, ram, and titan. The chevy averaged 15.7 mpg, ford14.8mpg, ram 14.3mpg, and the titan was dead last at 10.7mpg. So they maybe a little faster off the line, and even at the 1/4 mlie, but they'll be the first to run to the pumps.
