mustang 5.0 killed. . .
by a stock Ram Cummins Diesel 4x4 not once, not twice, but this guy tried three times!!!
going home yesterday after work I was hitting auto parts stores trying to pick some stuff up for my yoda when this guy who thought he was the shizznit in his red convertable mustang weaving in and out of lanes hauling butt down the street. So I thought I'd mess with the guy a little knowing I'd probably loose, but what the hey. I had some time to blow
anyway we were going about 40 and he punches it so he doesnt have to smell my exhaust. I pop it into 5th and punch it. he hears my turbo spool and I hear him get on it. so I do the same and literaly LEAVE him[sm=yikesomg.gif]. so at the next stop light the two of us are lined up. this guy is wanting redemption. he gears it up. I put it into 3rd and spool up the turbo to 10 pounds. light goes green and he takes an early lead. I hit 4th and spin the tires, but I'm catching him slowly. I hit 5th and begin to knock on the door. 6th gear comes around and I'm boosting at 30+ pounds. turbo is screaming, black smoke is POURING out the exhaust as I blow his doors off doing 85 and still accelerating HARD, when the next light comes around. not sure on distance but it felt a bit over a quarter mile.
well, the next light is a bit different. he's looking for blood[sm=badbadbad.gif]. I hear him tach the engine up to what sounded like 3500-4k. so, 15 pounds is in order. I launch in 3rd again and 2500 rpm. he spins out. my tires hook up and I'm gone. all he sees is the soot blowing out my tail pipe. at 55 I look back and this guys doing a u-turn[sm=wtf.gif]
just thought I'd share that a totaly stock Ram 2500 Heavy Duity 4x4 CTD can take on a mustang 5.0 and hold it's own

even with that, one would think that the stang would run circles around a 7000+ pound truck.
but you do have to look at it this way, at idle I'm making more torque than the 5.0 is at 3k and it takes all of ~1600 rpm for me to hit 600 lb-ft
I wonder what kind of HP I could get if I could match him rev for rev if I'm making 325hp at 2900 rpm[8D]
the priceless moment was the look on his face when he lined up for the third time

lol very nice kill makes me want a CTD even more now lol, im planning on about a year or so after my truck is paid for getting me a "4dr 4x4 dodge ram 3500 short bed or a 2500"

If you havent driven one yet. drive the Ford and Chevy offering first. . .then drive the Dodge. you'll be amazed how much better the Ram 2500 feels over the ford and chevy

I dont have to rev the engine to start off in third, I just have to ride the clutch a little.
the new cummins is 5.9l 325hp, 610 tq. the chevy duramax is 6.6l 300hp 590 tq. The ford PS is 6.0l ~290hp 575tq.
the Cummins might be the smallest displacement, but produces the most power. if it was a v8 my estimate would be around 425hp and 800tq.
and yes, this truck was pulling that Caterpillar 777D Mining Truck with a gross vehicle weight of 155,684 pounds!!!!
