RE: 4.7 Ram vs 5.9 Ram
I have to side with Dodge girl on this one i have a 5.9 and i killed a hemi in the 1/8th mile 2 truck lenths to be exact and as far as i know when i bought my truck although preowned its stock besides the magnaflow 14588 ss duel exhaust the 5.9 360 is no slouch and just remember its not blue printed and built like a race engine like the hemi is so seeing as we have a whole lot more mods to do to our 360"s along with the hypertech PP3 we can make some serious horse's just my 2 cents

RE: 4.7 Ram vs 5.9 Ram
Recently, in Mopar Muscle I believe, they ran a stock 4.7L Dakota against a Dakota R/T 5.9L. The R/T also had LSD, and wider tires than the 4.7L truck did. The 4.7L won 3 of 3. Not that the R/T didn't have what it takes, but it did lose. They had problems with tire spin. I loved it at the time since I had a 4.7L Dakota.
Now in the Ram, you probably wouldn't have the same traction problems the Dakota had, thanks to the weight. And the 5.9L would perform better than the 4.7L thanks to the torque. The biggest advantage the 5.9L has over the 4.7 or Hemi, is the fact that there are performance parts available for the motor. That will change though, hopefully.
Again, nobody is saying anything negative about the 360. If you are reading something into any of this, including previous posts, your doing it to yourself.[sm=smiley6.gif]

ok...I gotta jump in here!!! LOL
I to agree with Dodgegirl....the 360 and the HEMI are not comparable at all.
The Hemi, while you can S/C it....is pretty much done. You can do simple bolt ons but I hightly doubt you will ever see heads or internal parts like with the 360. just a few simple internal mods and the 360 will pound a Hemi all day. I have a few mods on my Ram and am able to keep up with Hemi QCs (the weight difference helps alot!!). But I know a RC Hemi would be able to walk away. Now by the end of the summer (and with out breaking the bank) I will probably be matching the RCs. The Hemi is a good strong motor....but with the way it was designed you are not going to get much more out of it!!
As for the origianal post. The 360 was probably stock and your getting the jump helped. I have raced a few RC 4.7s and killed them....bad!!
But either way...your race was a good match up!! And good job!!!!
Oh...and BTW.....I'm BAAAAAAACK!!!!!

ROFLMAO.[sm=lol.gif]
What????? Pretty much done???? On what assumption is this based??
I'm sure Hughes Engine will have cams for the Hemi in time. KB will have engine controllers as well. The heads probably are good for more flow/mods. Larger injectors will come, with intake manifolds. Long tube headers and high flow cats are already on the market for the Hemi.
Ya know, I've been accused of Bashing the 360 (??????), but it sounds like we have some HEMI bashing going on now.
