NO NO NO NO NO!!! I don't want this to happen... I LOVE my 5.9... but a Hemi is... well... it's HEMI! You can't compare... that's why you've got to race. I love 'em both... just standing up for what I own.
A HEMI vs. a 360 are you kidding? If you are talking stock the hemi is going to win all day long. Yes you can modify the 360, but look at all the hp parts already available for the 4.7 in the few short years it has been out. You don't think ole mother mopar is going to cash in the hp HEMI parts, come on. I know I knock the HEMI a lot for where it is built, but the design is almost the same as the 4.7. Actually the 3 valves, and the heads are the only major differances. The 360 & 318 are proven, but are too old. Don't get me wrong I think the 360 is one of the best mopar ever built, but when my 2000 dak R/T got spanked by a 2002 QUAD dak I was humbled. I traded it for my ram with a 4.7.
I don't want to bash anybody but Kenne Bell already has a Supercharger for the HEMI adding 50% of the horsepower. You can put the Supercharger on any of the engines but it is made for the HEMI.
I am sure that the hemi is definately held back by the ecu down low in the rpm's and I can't wait until someone figures out how to turn these hemis loose and give us the performance we deserve. There is potential in there!!!
You know what? We should be talking about spanking Chevy and Ford butt instead of arguing about whos Mopar is what. All I can say is I love my 360, and My HEMI.
