Bitburg motorpark, germany (oct 9, 2010)
Anyone who has run at Bitburg knows how bad the track is. Prep of the track includes opening the gate and letting the cars run down the track. Elevation is 1,223ft. And the track increases 10ft from the beginning of the track to the end. So this brings knew meaning to racing up hill.

My time is below dont have a video of the 12 I ran. But I didnt get a good 60foot which hurt my 1/4 mile time bad. I put up Chad's Cobra GT500 with a stage 2 kit and 3.73 gear time next to mine because you can see what I could have ran if my 60 foot was better because we did the same 1/8mph and 1/4mph. I did this with on 21psi on the turbo. Slicks were at 15psi. The slicks had to much psi should have been down more around 12psi.

to lose .271 60ft on wheel spin is hard to bite.
We're laying 750+- HP on 32x14.5 slicks and for us, a tire spin is maybe 0.04 60 ft. IE our best pass friday was a 1.25 60ft first pair after the pro-mods (with 8.25psi), and our worst pass (with 7.25psi after street cars) was a 1.29 60ft. Maybe a street car reacts differently to tire spin, but i would think with less power, you would be able to recover quicker.

What were both of your RT's, 330's and 1000's?
I'm not doubting that you could have stayed up on him if you hadn't blown the tires off, but just seems to me that .4 would be alot to gain. You actually were gaining on him, because normally a .2 difference at 60 is pretty substantial at top end.

The slicks I am running are M&H 24.5/8.5/15 at 15psi. But here are the times you asked below. Sorry we dont have a 330 foot just a 594 foot.

wow, that's kinda bass-ackward to not have a 330 timer.
Those aren't bad lights at all for street-class.Even with the turbo spool, you still left on him by .047.

I will be moving to Texas this coming spring so I will be racing there on a real track rather then a taxiway. I will probably lower the psi in my slicks from 15psi to around 12-13psi. This should help with my 60 foot times. I was told by people that were watching that when I was launching off the line the tire was getting two or three revolutions before I moved forward.

I will be moving to Texas this coming spring so I will be racing there on a real track rather then a taxiway. I will probably lower the psi in my slicks from 15psi to around 12-13psi. This should help with my 60 foot times. I was told by people that were watching that when I was launching off the line the tire was getting two or three revolutions before I moved forward.
At too high a pressure, the sidewall won't wrinkle, and you'll just blow the tires off. Too low, and you'll wrinkle into tire shake. I'm almost wondering if you are too high?
Are you on slicks or drag radials? What size? I have to wonder if 12-13 isn't where you should be already, especially if the track is unprepped as you say.
What part of Texas? We're in FW.

see if you can get somebody to video the way I do ours- shoe polish the sidewall and concentrate the video on it. We get about 1/3-1/2 of a turn of sidewall wrinkle before it starts moving. 2 or 3 turns is a big exageration (you would literally feel the tire shake, or you'd basically smoke the tires like a burnout) if they were that loose.

That's a pretty darn small tire. Have you tried dropping the tire pressure any? We hunted everywhere between 7.0 and 9.0 before we decided that 8.5 is what our car likes (on worn out MT's).
Remember the tire is an active suspension member. If your shocks are out of tune, your tires will try to correct for it. IDK, maybe your car is best at 15psi. Not know very much, I would experiment with 11 and 13psi. You wont be there much longer so at the same time, I wouldn't invest too much time into trying to go faster on an ill-prepared track.
