So I'm on my way to work this morning, when I spot a black WRX-STI a few cars ahead. thankfully the warm weather is here,and I'm driveing my Shelby CSX-T ( turbo shadow ). Now I'm waiting for this one part of the road were it goes to four lanes, so I can get along side of him. I work my up on the left side of the STI we are going 65 mph side by side. Then some one decides to pull out of a side street into the lane the STI is in. So STI has to hit the brakes, and he tucks in behind me. Once we cleared the car that pulled out, I hear him down shift and jump into the right lane to pass me ( I'm doing 55-60mph 5th gear at this point ) so the STI is passing , so I decide to down shift to 4th and floor it. well by the time I'm fully spooled the STI is about 2 cars ahead. then the boost hits and my car comes to life so I start pulling on the STI hard. I see him looking in his side view and he sees me gaining. so now I have put my front bumper at his rear tire and just when I think I'm about to show up this $33,000 ricers dream. He jumps on the brakes.!!! Oh well . I'll see him again. The best part was when the guy I car pool with turned to me and said " that guy is going to have along ride to work knowing he got pulled hard by a 1988 Dodge shadow."

That's cool! I'm going to go out on a limb and say that your CSX-T isn't exactly stock if your trying to mess with an STi, is it?

 

71RR, no need to go out on a limb.! Yes my CSX-T has a few mods. ( I run 20psi boost ) The STI is a stout car, and I would not mess with one if I were stock.

[sm=WTFsgign.gif][sm=dontgetit.gif] Nobody mentioned Honda's, but I'm with you on that one. A WRX STi is a Subaru if you might have thought otherwise.

 

I have a couple friends that have STI's and a couple that have Evo VIII's (2 of each) and they are hella fast cars so you have to have one beast of a car.

 

Look up his recent thread about going on a chassis dyno. It's pretty strong.
