I didn't see it claimed in this thread. Just the timeslip entry. I program computers for a living, no matter how simple we make the front end (user interface), someone ALWAYS screws up and puts the wrong info in the wrong field (I just love getting defects like "When I'm facing south, and reaching over my monitor to type on the keyboard and press Ctrl-Alt-Shift-F4 while holding my nose and standing on one foot on the 4th monday in October, my report is one penny off." )

well, running 43 automotive forums, i get used to watching for bogus times....

1. he only happens to have run the car three times...
2. he cant provide a slip
3. the times dont make sense and he HAS been called out on it
4. his name says he has a hemi, yet he drives a viper, and the picture that he uses is out of a magazine?

there is a chance that it is legit, but i dont think that we should allow times without slips.

there are actually a bunch on our database that i question...but everyone seems to have excuses...i have the first slip from when i broke into the 13s...i had the first when i went into the 12s, but it got washed in a pants pocket..but i sure as hell have my 12.68 slip, and a ton of 12.70-12.75 slips.

i mean, i can understand losing aybe your fastest slip, which i have done for my stratus, but i have other ones, that are 0.01-0.05 off of my best time...so its reasonably close...

Good points. I know what you mean about keeping timeslips. I've thrown away most of my slips, but I have each one of my "best" timeslips at various stages, from my first 13.9x to my best stock (13.7) to my best nearly stock (Bleed Mod, Spring Mod + Drag Radials = 13.53), etc... to my current best.

Well maybe he'll show up at the Pavillions in Scottsdale, Az this Saturday. I know I plan on being there.

i was going through my truck, and i found a stack about about 200 slips...ranging from mid 13s to low 14s...and i know there the glove box of the car, as well as the motor home, which is used to tow it to national events, is packed full of slips..

Had to put a little humor here.

Seriously, with a 70 yd head start it will be all over at 100 yd with the bad guy on the ground...not the dog.

Most won't race a Viper because they know how bad *** they are and the other half don't even want to play even when others try to get them to race. I had fun racing this past saturday in my SRT-4, but my times sucked again as did the other turbo cars due to weather. I race whatever lines up next to me and it just so happens that two of them were well modified Viper GTS's. I was running back to back runs and got both of them in a row. The first one walked away like I knew it would running an 11.982 @126.58 MPH. The other one was very modified and running slicks, I had previously watched him running and he was running 11.0's and 11.1's in the 130's MPH. It all went as I figured against him until the very end when I passed him. I have absolutely no clue as to why, but I won and he didn't break anything or red light. I had him on reaction time (.412 vs. .777), but that was about it, he had a 1.554 60' to my 2.409 60' and it just got worse from there. He remained ahead by half track by 1.5 seconds, but I was far ahead in speed (76.9 to 65.5 MPH). I squeeked by at the end by .222 seconds for the win. I have no idea as to why he quit before half track and all he had to do was look at the gas pedal to still get the win, there was nothing wrong with his car because he went right back and ran another 11.0 right after. It's cool since I can honestly say that I've beaten an 11.0 sec. modified GTS with slicks, but it was only a hollow victory. I still would love to know why he did what he did, because I never saw him do it again as he ran only low 11's every other time and the time he ran me he had people filming it, so I was figuring on a massive *** kicking. I love the Viper GTS's and would give almost anything to have one. I'll have one some day even if I'm 90 and it's from a junkyard at the time, I'll have one.

I get the same thing with people avoiding a race when I have my Roadrunner out, except someone that's just wanting to see me get on it and have no intentions of actually racing me. I use to get them trying me when it was stock and quiet, but no longer with the mildly built 440 and full 3" mandrel bent exhaust with Flowmasters.

I love racing Vipers! I know what you mean about them not wanting to play, I think it has something to do with the flowmasters barking at them! LOL

I have one of those all in one fax printers but I can't get it to scan my time slips. I think I'm going to have to tape them to a piece of paper and scan them.
If anyone doubts my times, they might be able to see the car at the track on WWW.CEN.TV on the net on tuesday night at around 8pm pacific? I had never seen it before but this super hot babe Alicia Avanti was interviewing us and checking our cars out so it was pretty cool.
I love Las Vegas!!!

Maybe the 96mph belongs to the 1/8 mile time? My car has trapped ~95mph at the 1/8 when I was running DOT's and low 12's.
Dang 95 in the 1/8! Mine runs around 91-93 in this crappy air here. You must have had a very high mph in the 1/4. I run 116, what was yours?

With the DOT's, the highest trap was 123. I was taking alot of boost out of 2nd and as much as I could out of 1st to get it to hook up. When I got a real set of slicks (borrowed), I was able to give back all of the boost in 2nd and only had to take back a little in 1st... resulting in 11.7's in the 125mph range (w/ 1.8 and 1.9 60's).

I've got some ideas on how to make it hook better. I sold my DOT's and got a set of real slicks. Now I'm just waiting on my new Bogart wheels. If my other idea pans out, I could be looking at a low 1.7 60' or possibly even a 1.6 60' (not bad for FWD). I'll also be adding a cage before it cools off... lookin' for low 11's in the high 120's come November.
