DO YOU GUYS REALIZE THAT THIS IS HIS 5TH WIN IN 7 RACES.....

RUSTY WALLACE CELEBRATED HIS 48TH BIRTHDAY TODAY

The only time Tony Stewart wasn't leading Sunday's Sirius at the Glen was when he had to stop for tires and fuel. Otherwise, the Nextel Cup points leader dominated, leading 83 of the 92 laps for his fifth win of the season.

Stewart scored his fifth career NEXTEL Cup Series road course win.

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. - Tony Stewart survived a green-white-checkered finish to complete a dominating performance and win Sunday's NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series SIRIUS at The Glen at Watkins Glen International Raceway.

Stewart started from the pole as the series point leader when qualifying was rained out on Saturday and never was seriously challenged Sunday afternoon.

The win was his fifth in the last seven series events and his fifth career road course victory. It gave Stewart back-to-back wins at Watkins Glen and a sweep of this year's NEXTEL Cup road races after his win at Infineon Raceway back in June.

Jorge Goeter, Kurt Busch and Ron Fellows made contact on lap 89 to bring out the race's final caution flag, setting up the overtime finish. With road racing experts Robby Gordon and Boris Said lined up behind, Stewart got a tremendous restart when the green flag flew and was never challenged for the next two laps on his way to the checkered flag.

Stewart led 83 of the 92 laps around the twisting road circuit.

Gordon and Said chased Stewart across the line with Scott Pruett, filling in for Sterling Marlin who lost his father "Coo Coo" late Saturday night, and Jimmie Johnson rounding out the Top 5.

Rusty Wallace, Mark Martin, Brian Vickers, Joe Nemechek and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. completed the first ten finishers.

The NEXTEL Cup Series now heads to Michigan International Speedway next Sunday afternoon.

RE: Tony Stewart wins the Sirius at the Glen (Nextel Cup Series)
Man, this is bullsh*t. That SOB won...AGAIN![:@] This is very sickening, no Dodge victory since race eleven, that's, well, eleven races ago.[:@] Dodge is actually doing better in the Busch series, 5 wins to one in the Nextel Cup series. [:@] Anyways, about Tony, I think it is about time that he stops winning everything, and give a Dodge a chance to win. You don't want Rusty to win the championship without ANY WINS![:@] Rusty, Newman, Mayfield, and McMurray all need to win at least one before the season is over IMO. That is my two cents...I'm Dave, you stay classy DF!

Yeah Smoke is doing awsome. He's on a tear! I root for Tony but I'm a JR. fan first and foremost. I was just happy that he got a top 10 finish.

RE: Tony Stewart wins the Sirius at the Glen (Nextel Cup Series)
thats kind of lame man. If you were racing him would you rather actually beat him
or would you want him to let you or some one else win out of pitty.

I rather would have him win than sandbag.
