NASCAR licensed meat products set to launch

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) and Monogram Food Solutions have launched a full line of meat products available to all retailers nationwide Sept. 18, coinciding with the first race in this season's Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup, the Sylvania 300 at the New Hampshire International Speedway (TNT, 12:30 p.m.).
Monogram's NASCAR licensed meat products will include NASCAR hot dogs and bologna, NASCAR smoked sausage, NASCAR lunch meats and NASCAR bacon, all of which are ideal for NASCAR racing tailgating parties.
"NASCAR and Monogram Foods are a natural fit and we are excited about them coming on board as a new licensee, " said Blake Davison, NASCAR managing director of licensed products. "One of the greatest traditions surrounding NASCAR race weekends is the outstanding foods the fans enjoy. Monogram's NASCAR licensed meat products are sure to whet the appetites of NASCAR fans from coast to coast."
NASCAR meat products will be manufactured by Smithfield Foods, Inc., of Smithfield, Va., one of the nation's leading processors of pork and processed meats and backed by NASCAR -- the No. 1 spectator sport in the U.S.
"We are very proud that Smithfield Foods is manufacturing our NASCAR meat products," said Wes Jackson, president of Monogram Food Solutions. "Smithfield is one of the nation's leading manufactures of quality meat products. They employ the industry's highest standards in production quality."
