Default 01 dakota quad

My wife wants to race her truck this year I was wondering if anybody has raced the 4.7 to get a time for the stock vehicle. I would like to know that time so I can compare to what it will run in May when she might run it at the mopar show in bremerton WA

Hello,

My uncle has an '03 Dakota Quad Cab 4.7. He has a canopy on it, and he and I ran it with my G-timer, this last winter, and, with spinning the tires a fair amount, it ran a 16.3@86. Not too bad, thought it would have been quicker tho, we tried it several times. My uncle actually lives in Silverdale,WA, not far from you(assuming you live in Bremerton, or close by..)!! What are the dates of the Mopar Show? My uncle, dad and I would like to go, and, where is the show? (BTW, his truck is stock)

Later, Austin-Wenatchee,WA

What kind of mod's are you thinking of? Saw that you have a Cobra. My uncle also has a '91 GT 5.0 convert. with some mods, 3.73's, intake manifold, flowmasters, short shift kit(I believe, poss. more) Nice rig, we got a 14.5 with that, in the winter, with 200lbs sand bags in the back, 140k on the odometer, and another passenger. What kind of times do you get with your Cobra? I am assuming that it is a Mustang Cobra...? Haven't heard of any other one. Good luck on gettting those mods on.

Trying to come up with a 14second truck for my wife but I am new to the whole Mopar and especially the 4.7. Was thinking the jet chip Airraid intake catback system from gibson. Was also wondering what commpression the 4.7 runs at. possible 50 shot Nos.
As far as the cobra I have not ran it on the new set up yet but i dynnoed last week 460hp and 576lbs to the rear tires last year I was running 12.05 consistantly on street tires Your uncle may want to think about getting a trimick tko trans t-5 world class sucks. Don't mind the spelling

Think twice about the "Jet" chip. Lots of people here at DF have posted negative feelings about that particular brand....just to let you know.

the're are lots of little things you can do to gain some horespower, check out my signature for a few,not saying it will make a 14 sec truck but every little bit helps. You also can look into HO cams and intake, they run a little under $400 and are suppose to add around 20 HP and 20 ft lbs of torque. I am planning on getting them soon, I will let you know how they do. I ran my truck at an 1/8 mile track and it ran 10.5 stock, but I dont know what it would do in a 1/4.
P.S.There's allways a supercharger!!![sm=smiley4.gif]

Yup, the speed of your vehicle is only limited by the thickness of your wallet...[sm=smiley5.gif]
