Default 05 RAM 5.7 HEMI vs. modded 99 civic si

Hello everyone I have a 05 RAM 1500 5.7 HEMI with some basic mods intake, TB spacer exhaust and hypertech programmer. A good friend of mine has a little 99 civic si that's been modded intake, header, exhaust, clutch flywheel, and cams. Last week we went to a pretty secluded area late at night and ran em aginst each other a few times, I was suprised at how quick the civic was. Off the line to about 60 he would easially put 2 1/2 to three cars on me every time and from a roll he was even a little faster! Had my truck been stock he would have really whooped my but, are there any other mods I can add to my thruck to get some good extra Hp?? I really don't want to add nitrous just don't trust it, what are some good forced induction kits ( I have about 5k to spend ) and have be seriously think about adding one!

take the 5k and put it down on a srt 10. Idk a bunch about trucks, but I am sure u could get that s/c'd for 5k, with all the necessary upgrades and parts, or at least real close

5g and I would buy ported heads and cam from krcperformance.com I would also get some 3.92 gears with limited slip in the rear. That T/B spacer does nothing for your truck. I would also go with long tube headers with a true dual exhaust. That would get your truck moving.

if it is legal where he lives...true duals are illegal in some states.

One word...Blower! You can spend tons of money on N/A mods (headers, heads, cam, intake, etc) and still come up a little short of a good Vortech kit. I have no internal mods on my motor, just the necessary supporting fuel upgrades and exhaust and I am making more power than I could have with a N/A motor (assuming I still wanted to pass smog and have it idle nicely). I know some N/A fans will flame me for this post, but dollar for dollar, the blower is the quickest way to get fast! Good Luck!

i have a 4.7l ram and all i have is true dual exaust(straights pipes no mufflers) and a cold air intake and iv only lsot 2 races and that was due cause my truck shut off lol. true dual exasut helps open up your HP alot instead of a catback exaust.

Buy a leaf blower, they're good cheap hp makers. i'd guess in the ballpark of 50-75 hp. Than you could really blow that civic away. And yes, for those who doubt, they do work.

A leaf blower will not compress enough air to make a 50-75hp increase on a dyno.

there is a video floating around the internet where they dyno a 7th gen Si, and by jamming a leaf blower over the TB opening, they gained a ton of horsepower, for a leaf blower...
