What are you running for carbs on your 340? Or is it fuel injected? my mopar knowledge is slim to none. I just pay my buddy to do my work for me on my 69. I coulnt build a car that fast myself if my man parts depended on it
Thats why I bought the LS1 car..the only motors I really know are the LT1's and the LS1's. I am EXTREMELY knowledagble with those. So if you have questions on those I can help...but honestly thats about it.

What are they running in the new charger rt's for numbers by the way? What are you pushing out of that 340 for horse?

FNfastSS, you stated: "I know that I was in for a round of crap...because I looked at my slip and it was 106 not 116...so I figured I would egg him on to see how good he was...and obvioulsy he knows his stuff very well. better than I. "

Just for compaison, two years ago I had 3.23 gears in the Roadrunner, a solid 7 blade fan, all accesories (no AC) and a small hydraulic cam and ran a best of 12.45 @ 109.
But usually it would run around 12.50's @ 107. I now use an electric fan and water pump, but it takes away from the streetability in the summer here as temperatures can reach over 120f.
Where do you live? what is the elevation?

ive never had my 340 on a dyno...but figure, my weight, right off the track was 3692, and it runs mid 12s...it would put it around 360-370 whp...which would be roughly 450ish..but i really dont get into power numbers..ETs are my biggest concern. all of the dynos in my area charge more than i feel that it is worth...100 bucks to say 'i have this much hp" could be better spent elsewhere. I am

running a proform carb...definately no injection. i dont like having to deal with computers and such...if the 340 isnt running right, diagnostics can be done with wrenches....if the slow *** stratus isnt running right, i have to hook it to a computer...

however, ive been tinkering with the missus' truck, which is injected, because there is little choice but to keep up "with the times". i dont dislike fuel injection itself, but the tempermental computers **** me off.

yeah those old cars are nasty straight lining it, thats pretty quick man...I didnt know those runners were that fast...I thought the chevelles were quicker?

If we are getting "dad"s involved haha my father in law has a 72 transam superduty...mint..he has the same deal...fast as hell straight lining but not much for braking.

I live in wisconsin...not sure of the elevation but it is usually pretty chilly when I start running...like 60 degrees maybe a little less...I am running pretty rich too so my car craps down low and then gets going...running 30# injectors with 52 PSI fuel pump on 400 motor horse is a bit overkill but Like I said..I am getting the turbo next month. I just hope I don't need bigger injectors still haha.

440 bored .030 over, I forgot that I simplified my sig a while back.
I think it's making around 475 @ the wheels, it weighs 3700#. It's around 550hp at the flywheel. It's just a good cheap reliable combo.

yeah..good and cheap combo..440 with a six pack that runs 11's...I would say thats good. I would hate to see what you would run if you were to really make her into a drag car by gutting it and stuff. wow.

I figured if you were running 11's you had to have around 470 at the wheels, at least for the weight of the car anyways. Thats sweet. thats why I am getting the turbo for my car...I wanna plop down into the 11's (If I can get it to hook).

I know you made a comment about my rear end to. I concur..the chevy 7.5" ten bolts suck something fierce...considering alot of the old rear ends were considered weak with a 8.5". Won't last long with a turbo.
I plan on going with the 33 slpine 12 bolt from moser..they have a nice set up with strange 3:90's. I don't want to go with 4:10's because of the turbo...second gear starts..may be inevitable regardless.

I am glad to get off on the right foot with you guys after the misunderstanding. Thank you both, for your help.
