well...the problem with this comparison is that the numbers of both cars, stock are never accurate, especially the old ones...a 68-69 440 charger would probably beat a new charger RT pretty easily, especially with good tires...

at the mopar nationals last year, they had a "stock hemi shootout"..matching a basically stock magnum RT against a big block challenger...the both ran low 14s, but the challenger couldnt get traction..on one run, the magnum actually one..

now, if you pitted an srt8 charger against an old school charger, the old charger would have alot more of a struggle..if not come out on the losing end.

but he asked about the RT, for the record..

also, ive seen big block chargers run better than that, and ive seen new srt8 owners say that theyve run better than that

FYI: There is no such thing as a 440 Hemi, the Hemi your refering to is a 426 Hemi. There were other smaller Hemi's, but they were made in the 50's.

new srt-8 300c's are hitting 12.56 bone stock. they are underrated real bad. no way in hell should a 4300 lbs beast be cutting those ETs with 3.06 granny hears.

12.56...is that a "best of" or soemthing? and where did you see this? ive driven an srt8 300c, on a closed circuit, and while it did feel fast, it didnt feel as strong off the line as the mirada...and it only runs 12.60s
