Default No Honda in NASCAR?

No Honda in NASCAR? Honda Racing president Robert Clarke was asked this week if Honda will follow archrival Toyota into NASCAR. "I never say never," Clarke said. "I've learned that in this business. But we have no immediate or near-term plans to get into NASCAR. We are quite occupied with our activity in the IRL." Honda is the only engine supplier for the IRL this season because of the departure of Toyota and Chevrolet. (Dallas Morning News) (3-10-2006)

Toyota has a habit of "over-strategizing" in Motorsports. They are completely failing in F1 and other areas. I'm not worried about them. But Honda is a different story. They aren't just idiots jumping into a sport, like Toyota. They know what they are doing. Although they don't dominate in other racing. They do well...

Yes, the Grand Prix was officially retired after the 2003 or 04 season. B. Labonte and Tony Stewart were a few of the last decent drivers to stay in Pontiacs before they were retired. I doubt they will bring them back (like the Dodge) considering that GM already has Chevrolet permanently engraved in the sport.

Honda and toyota should stay away from nascar, it is an american sport for the south, no need to bring down the sport with imports
