Well, today I had a funny experience.....I work with a kid who has a 91 civic hatchback with a CAI, lowering springs, wheels and a paint job. Overall the kid thinks its bad *** and fast.....but, lets face it. it isnt. He was talkin crap about my buddies Acura Integra GSR (which is ridiculously fast due to his mods) so I called him an idiot for saying his car was faster. Then he told me that he could take me. I wasnt too sure to be honest, which may be sad, I dont know.

So, after work we get to a light on the highway and when it turns green we take off......by the time we get to the 55 mph sign we set as the finish I was ahead by 3 cars.

Sad huh?

 

I believe it. I have a cousin that is still in the frame of mind that if he adds a CAI, clear tail lamps and an ECU on his 02 Civic he will run 12's. Every family get together I have to re-educate him on what is real and what is not. He lives in fantasy land with that car.

 

I also have a friend who has a reg cab silverado 2WD with the 4.8 and 3.23 rear. He thinks he fast as ****, he got a tornado thing, and has an exhaust system, and he thinks hes pushing 300hp. They all think a (flowmaster) exhaust system adds 20hp and an intake adds the same. I told them it adds 5 or less and they wouldn't believe me.

 

Not uh! My CIA gave me 45 HP! jk lol

 

A fast GSR? What's he boostin? Turbo, S/C or NAWS??? Back to the subject...Yeah Civic's are slow! I'd pick a Neon over a Civic anyday! Good Kill, Bro!

yeahitsahemi345 : hes runnin a turbo with a greddy front-mount on it. i think hes runnin 12 psi. im not too sure. i can ask if you really wanna know. hes put a lot of money into the internals of his engine and his tranny and such. the only thing that you can tell that is done to it is that it is lowered. its also a 4-door GSR, which are hard to find. i love it even though it is rice. its a sleeper if ive ever seen one. all the internals are built, new pulleys, gears, shifter.......the works. its nice.


id still love to see him race the 91 civic just to shut him up.

 

I don't need to know. I just know that unless Honda's are boosted then they're going to be slow. Even Type-R's are slow in the 1/4 mile. But then again they're not made for straight line racing. Good kill reguardless!
