Street Condition v Race Prep
My friend and I had a discussion about our drag experience. Basically we debated whether to keep everything that you typically drive with in your car when you take it down the strip verses taking out the spare and adding drag radials or slicks.
What are your opinions and why.
Speed freaks point - Take everthing you can out, add slicks or drs, put in some high octane, dial up the boost...get your best time possible
Purist point - Take what you have...then you know exactly what's available in any street fight.

both...its like weight lifting...you have the amount that you usually lift, but for the sake of argument, you max out once in a while...
but there is a difference for a street car...for instance, the mirada is driven on the street with DRs and no back seat or trunk items...so the mid 12s that it used to run could be had on the street, provided that it could hook up...however, with the RT, I race it with different front rims and tires, mostly to avoid chewing up my daily driven tires...i have cheaper tires for track use...and i do remove the back seat and spare at the track.
we are still dragging *** on getting amanda's truck to the track, but it will hit the track the same way that it is driven on the street...but it already has no spare, the bed is empty, and there is no back seat...

At the track it is all out. Lose the loose items. If you want to know how your car will accelarate fully loaded (street racing being illegal) go ahead, make a run. If you have a classic, numbers matching muscle car, Keep It Stock!!
I run what I brung...if you now what I mean. I'm not gonna spend 2 hours preping my truck to run the 1320 three times...that's a waste of time to me. But whatever floats your boat.
