Two Kills
Kill Number 1
I was on my way to work two weeks ago (before I left town) and I pulled up to a 2004 Mazdaspeed Miata MX-5. We were driving through traffic trying to get ahead of each other when we finally got to the front of the pack and found a red light. We started going when the light turned green and when I hot 20mph I looked over at him and then he looked at me and we gunned it. The most I had him by was one car length right off the bat and then it was a half car length until 95-100mph. He finally passed me at 105 so I let off but he kept going. I got behind him and found it funny that he was going every direction I was. He then pulled into the dealership I work at and parked right next to me. The guy that got out of the car was a Mazda salesman at the dealership. We started laughing at each other and he made sure I knew not to tell anyone at the dealership. I heard him talking about it to the Mazda sales manager on Thursday so I figured it was okay to break the silence.
Kill Number 2
Last night I was cruising with my friend who got a 2003 Chevy Silverado SS for his birthday on Friday. He's only got 800 miles so we havn't raced yet, and we agreed not to because whoever lost would be pissed off. It was a sweet night, 75 degrees and clear, and we just drove next to each other going slow all night, driving slow was an acomplishment for both of us. Towards the end of the night I saw a CRX all riced out with "DROP 'EM" painted all huge on his back hatch. I couldn't resist, I pulled ahead of him at the stoplight so my pipes were right next to his open window and I revved that thing. We started racing through traffic and such and my friend in the SS ended up next to him, he claimed to run consistant 14's and he said he was "gonna get me." We raced from a roll and I lost by half a car length. He and his ugly girlfriend were laughing at me so I said I wanted to go from a stop. We stopped right there, no light just traffic. We were pretty far ahead of the traffic so it wasn't that bad. He honked three times and we took off. I killed him off the line, all that weight transfering to the back on the FWD car didn't help him at all. I thought his tires would never quit spinning. I had him by about five feet all the way to 90 before he passed me and 90 is what I did in the 1/4 so I figured I beat him.
That second story makes me ask a question:
I had two friends behind me when I raced that CRX, my friend in the SS and another friend in a Ranger. They were way behind because I had already raced the CRX from a roll. They were probably about 50 yards behind me when the CRX and I raced again. They didn't come to a complete stop, just "slowed way down." My friend in the Ranger is a pro Chevy guy (driving a Ranger
) and likes to start arguments. He said that the SS was catching up to both me and the CRX wickedly fast. He couldn't resist gunning it any longer. I asked him and he said he was barely catching up and not that fast. The time will come when we will race each other and I do not want to be the loser. I'm really afraid I will be, hes only got 200 miles until the 1000 mark and I am not looking forward to it. How fast are those SS's? I also think it was an optical illusion from the Ranger because he would have been so far back, I personally didn't see anybody catching up to me in the mirror. Plus, they didn't come to a complete stop. Any thoughts?

as i posted in an older topic...i ran a hemi ram in a SS chevy, and i had no problem pulling on him...i dont know what mods you have, but he should be able to beat you, as much as i hate to say it...
Nice Kills!! [sm=smiley20.gif] About the SS....I must say, I think he MIGHT be able to take you. What kind of rear end do you have, i.e. 3.92 w/LSD, or 3.55 open diff? If you have the 3.92, you should be able to beat him. If you hook up good at launch, you should still be able to take him, even with 3.55. You have more power at the wheels, being he has AWD, so his power is distributed through 4 wheels, vs. your 2 wheels. Same hp, pretty much same tq, but the SS is heavier, my $$$ is on the HEMI. You better win!! We don't want a chevy ([:'(]) to beat you!
BTW, how are you and your friend getting these nice trucks?? You having the HEMI and he getting a brand new SS?? I have unlimited access to my dads 4x4 Hemi, but I only get 10k for my personal car. Thinking of a Passat(I'm also very partial to Euro, not just Mopar) 1.8T, then modding it out of coarse, or a 2500 Cummins, and modding it(by modding it I mean, everything; engine, suspension, etc.). What do you think?

I just have exhaust, I've raced two and won before but I have also lost to a couple as well. I wasn't really worried until they said how fast he was catching up to me. Now an update: we decided to get the race over with. We ran one another, he got me off the line but I started to catch up, my front bumper was at the crack between his front and back door almost the entire time, around 85 or 90 I started to catch up but a 1/4 mile would have been over before I could catch up. We also started at an intersection crossing a street under construction, so the street was a little messed up and there was a slight maybe 6" slope going down to the street on either side, I peeled out pretty bad going across that. It was probably the closest race I've had yet, there was never a gap between the front of my truck and the back of his.
Well you'll be glad to hear this:
We decided to race again, he was in the right lane and I was in the left, there was a ricer next to me full of hot hot girls so I yelled at my friend in the SS "lets go" just to show off to the girls in the ricer. We agreed not to race again but we had to make an acception for these girls. This time the road was perfect. I power-braked it to 2000 RPMs and when the light turned green we too off. I had him immediately. It was almost the complete opposite of the first race, this time his front bumper was around the front of my bed until 90-95ish where he started to catch up a bit. We decided to leave it at 1-1.

I had to put a pair in their place over the weekend. The first was at night leaving the car wash. I was coming up to a red light where there was a wannabe hot rod Cavalier (it even had the stickers on the sides that say Ralley), that I noticed was hot rodding it as it went by before I pulled out of the car wash, and as I approached the light in the empty lane next to him the light was changing. I was almost at a stop when it changed and then when it did he took off spinning his wheels, probably showing off cause his girlie was with him. That was his mistake. After he did that I slightly goosed it, not even to half throttle, and left him lookin' stupid as well as several huge semi lenghts back.[sm=smiley36.gif] Then I had to get into the lane he was in to keep going straight to get where I was going and there were 2 cars in front of me and it was at a red light. Then he seems to ride my a** and it was a no passing zone, so I had to deal with him being a sore looser, they key word being looser.[sm=smiley36.gif]
The other was the following afternoon on the freeway. I notice a rice bomb up ahead, a newer black Civic that had dark tinted windows, it was lowered, had aftermarket wheels and had a fart tip muffler. I had to blow by it just for that. Later on after I settled into the traffic at the speed limit, he comes up and trys to find a way around and past me, but it was down to 2 lanes with traffic at this point. I decided to take the longer way home to give him more time to try something, but he never got in front of me or tried to pass me when given an empty lane next to me, he needed in the one I was in and probably knew that I wouldn't let him pass me. I sooooo wanted him to make a move for it, but then I got off the next exit after sweeping around a ramp from one freeway to another leaving him way back.
They were both far too easy, but at some point they each tried me although I was really wanting to have the Civic give it a real try besides what little he did do. I don't consider the Civic anything since he didn't really ***** up and try me, I just blew by him while he was already speeding.[sm=smiley24.gif][sm=smiley36.gif]
