LS1 camaro kills
ORIGINAL: DevilsReject
To be fair, the Camaro was done being built by 2002...so the 03-04 Cobras arent a fair comparison. The Camaro pretty much held its own or beat the Mustang year in and year out until it was discontinued...

once my computer gets in and I finish up the cam swap, Ill be sure to test it out on a couple LT1 birds, but I dont think Ill be ready to hang with ls1s untill I get slicks.
LOL, jealoous of what??? I've owned an LT1 WS-6 Trans Am, and a built Dakota RT, so I think I can speak fairly on both sides. And I just recently owned a bolt-on 350Z that had no problem w/ LT1's and would give an LS1 car a decent run.Unless you're REALLY modded, I don't see you beating an LS1. An LT1 car is a definite possibility, but you'll still have your hands full IMO....
My 97 WS6 Formula was about a 5.4 0-60 car (low 13's)and was basically stock. It was rated at 305 BHP, where as the stock base LS1 was rated at the same 305 and the WS6/SS versions 320 BHP. The LS1 can touch 12s with a GOOD driver. They were underrated, but most cars are. It was after the Camaro and Firebird killing that the LS1 got a boost in HP.
Those cars were a VERY good value for the power and potentialyou got in return.

i think that its going to take more than a cam and slicks to run with a average driven ls1 car...rm indy ran high 12s blown, and that would beatmost stock ls1 cars.
what heads, stall, and gear are you running, indyram? amanda ran 14.80s with what little we have done, and a bone stock trans...rm indy cracked into the 13s with the same mods, a built trans/stall, and from what i understand, quite a bit of weight reduction.
