Finally ran my truck
Well, I finally ran my truck at the local 1/4 mi. track, but I was kinda disappointed. I have a 2000 ram 1500 reg cab short bed. It's got a 318 with k&n intake kit, fastman 50mm throttle body, shorty headers, dual exhaust with 10 series flows dumped, superchips programmer on 93 octane, 180 deg stat, low ratio pulleys ( crank and alternator), autolite 3923 plugs, msd 6a ignition, msd 8.5mm wires, and blaster 3 coil. My best run out of three was a 16.407 @ 83.01mph. [sm=lame.gif] Slower than i was hoping for. Now for the excuses, oil is leaking into my intake manifold, my headers leak, and I know that my exhaust setup is hurting me, along with my 3.55 gears in my leaking rearend. On a good note, on my first run I had a reaction time of .591. Hoefully, i'll get the intake manifold fixed, along with the other problems, and be able to get something a little more satisfying.

RE: Finally ran my truck
i dont think that those are bad times at all...
we took amandas truck to the track a while back, and my goal was to have a baseline run, so before we went, i took things off like the computer and such, and put the stock coil back in....and then i forgot the box with the stuff in it...[:@]
she ran 15.5 with the stock computer, K&N roud filter, stock ignition, stock pulleys, AC, full weight....this weekend we are hoping to get it on the track with the 26" DRs, and the performance computer is back in...MSD ignition and coil, underdrivers, no AC, no subs...
anyways, okiemag, my mirada ran similar times with the 318, and your truck surely weighs more than it does..once you fix those problems, youll be much happier with your times...all 2nd gen ram owners have RM_indy's 360 times as proof that these trucks will run when worked...the next mod for us, once the demon is done, will likely be the trans build...id be happy for now to have her truck run in the 14s...
by the way, what are you running for tires?

16.4 is a respectable time for a 318 Ram. Seldom see any at the track I frequent under 17seconds
