Silly Goat, Evo, and G35
Okay so last week I just got the cam and valve springs installed on my Prix, so im out hotdogging....NATRUALLY enjoying the major difference in power (dyno showed a 51WHP, and 74WTQ increase with the mods i currently have)
So now its like the SRT-4's where first gear is POINTLESS...but needless to say its about 2 in the AM no one is on the roads, cops are all over the place.
I eventually drive about 45 mins from my house and there is nothing but trees, a divider, and 3 lanes going my way.
I am all by my self, and get stuck at this LOOOONG (you know those stupidly long lights the township didnt bother putting a radar on so you just have to wait) lights, and I see twinkles in my rear mirror......2 minutes go by and this light still has'nt changed...WTF So the twinkles tured into visible cars....of course the loudest one of the bunch was an 06 Goat with headers, and no mufflers out the tail pipes (it sounded like ****) then the classic CHEWBACCA-like hum of the G35 with the chomping of the intake, and one car behind me....
Both are trying to talk to eachother over me (pretended like i was'nt there) and said lets go from a 30 roll....so insted of being a dick and running where i was'nt invited i let them get ahead of me, and the goat got in my lane, so i try to get in the fast lane, and the evo cuts me off.....he was bone stock...i knew what the outcome was going to be so i stayed behind the goat. sure enough the evo honked for them, and they are off, the goat spinned and so did i in fact i spun so hard the tranny shifted into second and i rolled out of the spin in a low rpm....but even with that i stayed right behind the goat, he pulls on the G, the evo is still next to the goat but losing ground fast, the evo is now next to me, and im still beging the goat, the g35 is now 2 cars behind, and the evo is at my bumper and still quickly losing ground, im about to start sniffing the goats *** so i get next to him from where the G35 was and still is losing ground...and fast the evo is about 2 cars behind now, and we are hitting about 85 mph now and now im as the goats rear tire, i shift out of 2nd now im hitting the top of 2nd at about 97 MPH and im at the goats side view mirror, the passenger had a camera pointed right at me and kept saying HOLY F*CK, HOLY F*CK HOLY F*CK!!!! after 115 mph my speedo has no more numbers to read, but it was well past 115, probably at around 125 and now the goats bumper is now at my front tire, i figured ive never actually gone this fast before, but this road seems to keep going on forever, and on one was in front so i figured screw it let me wind her out, so my foot keeps to the floor, i must have been doing at least 140 and now the goat is at my rear tire but now im not pulling away as fast as before, at what my guess was 150 he was at my rear bumper, but now im starting to get a lil nervous because ive never gone this fast before, and didn't think my car actually had the gears to go this high up top, but 3rd gear is long, as i hit about 5800 rpms in 3rd, and still pulling hard, the goat is creeping up slowly and eventually got up to my door before i toped 3rd and let off at 6200 rpms is there it would have shifted into OD, but i held it to 6400 and stayed ahead but let off...i look in my mirror and the evo and g35 are bus lengths behind us but the evo was still way in front of the coupe....so they tell me to follow them after we all got back do to about 70mph so they lead me into a closed gas station, the kid in the g35 isnt talking to any one, the kid in the evo sounds like bill and ted in there excellent adventure "dude that thing was haulin.....this this is outstanding!!!" the guy in the GTO prolly in his 30's just shoot my hand and said holy f*ck man and we continued to BS as im still trying to catch my breath, i asked hium how fast he was going right before i let off and he said just shy of 165. I had to be honest with him, i told him that if before we raced someone had told my that my car could go that fast i would have said he was a liar. but we all exchanged numbers, except for mr g35 and parted ways......i just thought i would share this intense (at least for me) run in with 3 nice cars

im too lazy to read that all, but you have a car that runs 13.11 modded, and youre beating up on cars that are almost in the 12s stock?

um not even close my friend the Goat was an automatic, bone stock every single one ive seen will run a mid to low 13 with a full exaust they can hit a high 12, my car had its best ET of a 13.11 spinning, with a 2.2 60 foot with the cam its not even close to what the car can do if i were to get traction.
Note that ferraris, porshe, there base cars will run 14's to 13's but after the 1/4 mile there cars wake up, where as cars that might be quick in the 1/4 can lose steam after it crosses that mark
The evo was bone stock, bone stock evolution will run high to mid 13's but have no top end because they have very short gears, especially when its a 5 speed
the G35 coupe was a 6 speed but they only run mid 14's stock, with a catback and intake, MAYBE a low 14

a friend of mine has an automatic LS2 GTO, and with not a single thing done...completely stock down to the rubber, he ran in the 12s on a nice cool night with good traction...he typically runs in the 13.1 range, but in the right conditions, they are capable of 12s...and even with them running in the low to mid 13s, they have great trap speeds...
as for the evo, i dont have any idea where youre getting that information from...every evo that ive seen that was remotely well driven, and in magazines for that matter, were damn near 12s, especially if its the evo 9, which got the larger turbo and responds to mods FAR better. there is a guy in the pittsburgh area with an evo 9 who has an intake, DP-back exhaust with no cat, an MBC, and its tuner, and with good traction he ran in the low 12s..i understand thats not stock, but even the POORLY driven evo's that i have seen were in the high 13s...my mistake on stating that the evo was a factory 12 second car, but it takes VERY little work and a good driver to find the 12s...
and the G35 is a pig in comparison to the other cars mentioned. i didnt mean that...i should have been more specific..the VQ35 is a great motor, but responds VERY poorly to simple mods.
i suppose that i could see your car having a good shot at them both from a roll....based on your short time.

You are once again talking about one of the few goats that can hit those times, i go every wednesday, and friday to englishtown raceway in NJ, even to those streetwars, and so far 40 out of 60 % of the GTO's i've seen will hit high 12's stock in a 6 speed, "i've" never seen one personally hit a high 12 with a bone stock automatic because the TQ management and converter wont let them see better than a 1.9 60 foot. Yes granted that with a tune, or the right weather, and elevation, and all the other factors in track prep will make the difference, but im just telling you from my experiance based on what ive seen with my own two eyes.......i dont believe that the magazines state, because they run those cars on rented tracks and can let them cool off right on the tree and they have professionals driving the car over and over and over on there own conditions
My friend has an 05 LS2 with nitto DR's 160 thermo, and an slp loudmouth catback and he hasnt been able to run better than a 13.20 at 110 mph he consistantly will run 13.40's all day
and as for the evo 9 no one around me has one of those, if they are even out yet, and once again you are talking about modding them, of course they are massivly responcive to mods, i owned a 91 Talon TS-i AWD and worked in a DSM speed shop modding them all the time. Im talking about an 02 Evo 8 5 speed, and the only reason they average mid 13's is because of there launch advantage, but up top, stock for stock, an rsx type S 6 speed will start to walk away from an evo after 100 mph
Once again, i said the G coupe has a catback and intake, the evo was BONE STOCK, and the Goat had open headers, and straight pipes with no tune (open pipes on the stock LS2 will make you lose power)

youre tired of trying to prove things after me making two points? it must have been cool to see such a rare piece as a 2002 Evo 8 5-speed, considering that it wasnt available until 2003...and the evo 9 was released as a 2006 model, but was available starting in late 2005. guess that you didnt pick that up working in that DSM shop, huh?
so, i guess that in the same way that you didnt know that the evo 8 started in 2003, you dont see the 12 second potential in a car trapping 110mph...and he probably cant get off the line because he runs cheap S**t nittos...
and if you have this endless information, why dont you drive an LSX car?
maybe you should stop trying to prove your "Facts", until you get them right.
This is why I like to read your posts BadStratRT, as you do know the facts, and you do not use any BS, to make your point.
