ok , i was coming off onto the on-ramp to I-79 south out of grove city towards pittsburgh when some jackass in a subaru impreza jumps on the shoulder and starts passing cars with a stock 5.0 mustang on his bumber, so i start to floor it , im the kinda guy who likes a lil bit of action on my way home from work in the morning, about two miles down the interstate, the 5.0 jumps infront of the impreza after we were caught behind a big rig for a few seconds, i came up behind the impreza fast and he merged out of the hammer lane and let me pass him so i start to pick up some speed again looking for the 5.0 about 1/2 mile down he was stuck behind another rig that had come out of the rest stop before he could pass it , when i got close enough to let him know i was there he started giving it some gas, we were head to head for about 50 or 60 ft then he started to pull on me until i hit 5th gear (5th gear was like a shot of NOS lol) i started to pull slowly, then when i hit about 125mph i started to gain a better pull on him, i was ahead atleast 5 or 6 car lengths for about 5 mins, then had to slow down for my exit

 

and lost to a corvette later in the morning on east washington st in new castle

lemme re-phrase this....i got OWNED by a vette....wish i had a viper though....or more performance up grades

no, the 5.0 was stock , completely, and the subaru was junk, actually i dont think the subaru was trying to race anybody, i think he was just driving like an idiot

yes, im running both custom engine and tranny with modified bore and stroke, im hoping to put it back onto the dyno sometime this month to see what im running as far as torque the
6 speed tranny is almost the same one they design for the viper accept itsa bit different and designed for the stratus,neon,Chrysler seabring ,and the chrysler concord

the engine and transmission were both custom built byThe GrandViewGarage in McKeesport PA i dont have any of the original parts under the hood except for the battery and some other odd end things, my dad runs MOPAR sponserships at Keystone Raceway, he gets alot of bulk parts from other cars, they have a 2004 stratus sxt running 400+ hp , its pretty bad ***, I havent been able to see it race yet , but i heard it schooled 6 ricers in one race day and came almost even with a 69 charger


im really hoping to get my digital camera soon so i can take pics under my hood , my car looks like a total sleeper besides the body kit , but i only have the front and rear clips, and the original r/t spoiler, im thinkin of taking it off for now though, because i bought it to fit the stratus se on accident and didnt realize the rear end would be a totally different size lol

 

thats odd...i was a regular for years at PRP, and I would have surely seen a 400hp stratus. what engine is it running? i know most of the serious mopar guys there...what is his name?

also, i dont understand how you have a mopar six speed transmission...they onyl came in 5 speeds, and mopar doesnt make a turbo kit for the stratus...so im not real sure what youre talking about. also, mopar doesnt make the motor in the stratus, mitsubishi does.

id REALLY like to see pictures of these cars...

 

I know that Mitsubishi built 3.0L V6's with twin turbo's (Stealth R/T TT and 3000GT VR4) and that Chrysler built turbocharged 2.4L 4 banger Stratus' for Mexico (not available here in the US), but I've never heard of or seen any such "kits" from Mopar on the turbo or the 6-spd. and I have almost every catalog they've put out in the past several years.

I would love to see pictures of all this as well.
