you list "heads" as a mod, what heads are you running?
good question. They where on when i bought the truck, i took off a valve cover and took a pic of the rocker arms, and you can see the headers, im thinking they are gibson headers, no idea on the heads though, im thinking maybe just a custom port and polish by a custom shop or somthing. At the next Dakota meet here in DFW im going to see if i can get somone else to take a look at them and see if they can tell me her is the pick of my internals, the rockers have a 1.70 stamped on them, so im guessing its a 1.7 crane rocker.

well, i dont know why you (or whoever before you) would change the heads if your truck is a real RT...the RT heads are fairly sought after, so i dont know why someone would switch them.

larger cam could be a reason, no?

It has a cam in it, not sure on lift but its small not 100%racing but probably street. Is there any computer or way to tell you what the specs are on your truck without striping the motor down. If i had a 2nd truck i would pull this puppy out and clean it and rebuild it and see what i do have in it, but i dont so i cant..

no...at least, i dont think so. if you ran a huge cam, you would need to go to better valve springs, but for a mild vehicle, i cant see any reason that pretty much any cam for that truck wouldnt be fine with the stock heads.

Hmm.. I see. Well i got a VIN report and it is a 2000 R/T not a clone. Ill have to look into that a bit more. Ive had diffrent storys from diffrent people, saying the number i produce on the dyno would mean i had upgraded heads, either they dont know what they are talking about or they do. I have no idea. I want to find another CC Dakota Stock and have that as my daily driver truck and use my SC RT for performance racing, thats my dream...

ive spoken to a few guys with built 360s, running ported RT heads, making BIG power.

one way to tell, the heads should either have the R/T logo cast into the header flange area of the head...if they are aftermarket, most of those heads have the brands stamped on the front of the head, facing the radiator.

what did it dyno at the wheels, on what kind of dyno?

was that on a mustang dyno, or dynojet?

check out this guys page, he has all sorts of dyno sheets for a dakota RT..
http://www.bellsouthpwp.net/t/h/therrin/dakota.html
your numbers appear to be VERY similar to his when he just had the M1 and some minor mods, before the cam and P&P...you do have a bunch more torque, which would indicate that there is something working with the M1...the M1 (or any other single plane intake) will hurt the low end torque..i dont know why the hell no one makes a dual plane for the 360 magnum...[:@]

youre on a completely stock computer? stock computer, stock tune?the mopar PCMmade a pretty noticable difference in amanda's ram. going from the stock computer, stock pullies, and stock tires to the performance computer, under drive pullies, and hoosiers cut from 15.6 to 14.8s (not at the same track)
