front of 2wd ramcharger lift
ok, i see there are a few people who refuse to give up there pristine 2wd ramchargers for 4x4s but still want a better stance. there have been a few posts on how to do this and this is what i hear....
the rubber coil spacers i have heard can split and not last very long, i have heard of putting 3/4 ton or 1 ton coils on the front and there is a gret article on that in the how to section of ramchargercentral.com, as for me, i want a little better stance out of my 2x and i was wondering who, if anyone has done this heavy duty coil setup, i am about to do it myself, i was just wondering if anyone has done this as i dont want to dive into it and have to fabricate things i dont expect, any thoughts are stories would be much appreciated.....

come on guys, i know more people have dones this, i have already orders new leaf springs for the rear, and im kinda waiting on the front untill i get some more information as i dont want to jumo into the deepend!
Have you checked with the companies that make the kits to raise 2wd drive trucks? The Ramcharger may not have been popular enough for them to make such a kit, but certainly the front end would be the same as a pick up. Rancho is a name that comes to mind, I'm sure there are others.
Just checked Rancho's site (gorancho.com) - They have a listing for 72-78 2wd Traildusters, but nothing for a 2wd Ramcharger.

ramchargers and trailduster are basically the same exact thing, no kits are made to lift the 2wd ramchargers that is why most use spacers and 1 ton coils, im not concerned about it i know im not the only on to have done this kind of swap, i just want to know kinda what to expect from it once i do it in the next couple of weeks.....
As far as I know you can't get too much lift up front without upgrading your upper control arms. I got 2.75" lift out of mine and I had to trim the bump stop to let it travel a little more for comfort. The upper arms just don't let you liftall that much. I tried finding lift spindles, but with no success.
when i lifted my 84 , i went to j.c .whitney online and found only a couple of sources that had anything to do with ramchargers and traildusters. i know they make a lift kit for the front and the rear for the 2wd, since due to some error on either my side or the shipping dept. sent me the 2wd lift. rough country is theplace that i went thru. for my 4by, the whole spring susp lift was about 700.00 with tax and s&h. that would be the easiest way since it all bolts together. but i know that they make a full lift for the 2wd version. hope it helps.
