Ramcharger, Trailduster & Power Wagon Grrrr!! Tough Trucks! The Dodge Ramcharger and Plymouth Trailduster were full size SUV's that had good looks and brute strength. The Dodge Power Wagon was comparable to them in toughness, but came in pickup truck form only.

its different than the one on my r/c. the one on my r/c has no drain plug on it. the one for the 440 has one in the front of the tranny.

so you are talking about pan differences, in terms of drain plugs? on a 727 there is a kickout on the passenger side pan rail where as the 904 is straight there, it has to be a 727, im pretty much certain they made no big block 904s only small block and slant 6, if you want to make sure though and find out more inforemation on the transmissions, there arecasting numbers on the pain rails of both transmissions i believe they are on thedrivers side and theyshould begin with PKand then some numbers....

Say there Blindside, RB in place of LA, goes right in there with the right trans, make yer own mounts pretty simple! As for sticking 440 in it fine and dandy but my past experince with this is that the 440 is great fun in the mud and sand but it tends to overwhelm the tires to the point of tractibility is compromised a bit on the low end. Just my 2 cents.

Right there charginram,Wheel speed is king! I'm just saying a happy 360 wheels as good as an RB. It's just my observation that the LA to RB W series that I've had (twice now) seemed more drivable in the loose **** than with the RB as in the 360 would idle-1800 rpm over somethings that the same truck with RB I would have to beat more to get up/over the whatever the ****, because the RB wanted tomake instant wheel spin where the LA would just creep. It seemed to me that the RB required a little more thought in approach at low speed than the LA. I would also observe that in the W-200 the RB was a bit quicker overall than the LAand both engines performed well, but in the AW-150 I think the LA was more drivable than with the RB which is why it has a LA back in it.Another way to look at it would be an approach to a mound of obstacle the LA goes up and over it at 1500 rpmusing 150 ft.lb torque, where the RB with its 275 ft.lb torque starts wheel spin then wants more throttle to get upthe same thing. Either way they are both fun.

yeah, well i'm ordering all the parts i need to refresh this beast of a motor i have. bought all new gasket set for motor including intake valley pan, buying a new cam with roller lifters. deciding between a 650cfm,( which was on it originally, but i traded it to get my lift on), or buying a 700 to go on it. either way its still my work and play truck, cant get too over zealous, you know? ifound a new msd type ignition with dist, coil, and the ecu for it on ebay for about 280.00. i have headrs on already, motor mounts are good. taking off the a\c pump to give back some lost hp, so all i really need is a bracket for the alternator to rest up on. i was also going to get new u-joints all the way around it, just to stay on the safe side. the wheels on it are 33" big o XT 's on 10"x15" rims, so they can spin all they want. got the 6 yr warranty on tires when i bought them, just to save my own ***. all thats left is to take the pan out of the tranny and get my reverse gear back.never done thatbefore but my friend said it is really simple. i've read the haynes book i have on ramchargers and dodge about 40 times over, so i feel confident. its just the sand out here that worries me, its eveywhere. i need to build a shop or a tent os some ****.

So yer keeping the 360 or what? What's with reverse? A little looser torque converter will help you a bunch performance wise. Sand is why my TrailDuster is packing a 6-71'd 360 way more frisky than the 440 it replaced. Not bagging RB's either is far superior to the other offerings out there!

i'm taking the 360 out of the truck, and putting the 440 in it. it was already built up to an extent, before i bought it. edelbrock intake, and it has alum heads on it, not sure what brand, i need to degrease the hell out of it. but with that and all the other stuff i'm buying for it, it will be the baddest dodge where i live at. we have a couple guys down here with 360's and 318's in their rams and r/c's, and i raced a guy a week before my truck messed up. he was bragging how he had 500 horses on his 360, but when i looked at it , it was a stockass motor. we raced , i won hands down. with this new motor, i'm aiming at the bronco and blazer freaks that live around my area. they always say **** about dodge to me,. when i had the power wagon running,(with the 440), no one wanted to play.go figure.

okay, i guess i screwed up on the tranny behind the 440. my other buddy, ( also mopar freak), told me that it would have to be a 926since it is an automatic, and that was the only other one besides the 727. he sais that the 727 went to all the small block engines and the 926 went to all the big block applications. so this would mean that i have a 926 right? the engine is almost out of the power wagon so i'll be able to see whats up with it all. just figured i would ask.
