Ramcharger, Trailduster & Power Wagon Grrrr!! Tough Trucks! The Dodge Ramcharger and Plymouth Trailduster were full size SUV's that had good looks and brute strength. The Dodge Power Wagon was comparable to them in toughness, but came in pickup truck form only.

Default Torque converter for the 318 and the 360 engine

I have imported a 84 ramcharger with a 360 engine into he Netherlands. The federal authorities of Traffic (I don't know how this is called in the US) who have to approve the car for drivingand giving mea dutch Title approves only the Ramcharger with the 318 engine.[:@]. (A 360 was never released in the Netherlands)
That means I have to build out the 360, build in a 318, get the car on dutch title, and then I can build in the 360 again!!
My question is, It was told me the converters of the 318 and 360 are different (external-internal balanced) Is it possible to run the 318 with a converter of the 360? How can I recognize both converters once I have build out the engine block? Does anybody has part numbers of both converters?

many thanks for helping me!!

Rgds, Marc

Hey there yes the 318 converter needs to be weighted inorder to run successfully. Take it to your local tranny shop they can do it for you. shouldn't hurt the wallet to bad.

miss info /// the 318 is a balanced engine ,..and the converter has no weights.. as u will see when u pull the 360 out.. there 2 weights welded on as, the 360 is an external balanced engine..
but ill bet the guys cant tell one engine from another .. just get a 318 sticker and put it on the valve covers .. or get a set of 318 covers with it on them.. its up to you worth a try quinn
