Ramcharger, Trailduster & Power Wagon Grrrr!! Tough Trucks! The Dodge Ramcharger and Plymouth Trailduster were full size SUV's that had good looks and brute strength. The Dodge Power Wagon was comparable to them in toughness, but came in pickup truck form only.

Default 83/85 Needing help

I just purchased a ramcharger. The body is a 83 2wd, on a 85 4wd frame. Completely restored. But im wanting to buy a few parts but dont know where to look. I see that LMC does not sell parts. Where can I go to get parts?

I have an 85 ram van and I usually go to a Napa dealer; tell them what I need and they give me a salvage yard printout based on my needs and vehicle. After a vehicle is over 20 years old it gets harder and youlearn to make things work outside the box.

I know this is a bit old, but what parts are you looking for? if you are cool with yard parts, most of the engine parts are the same for the similar year PUs and Vans. from 83 to early 87you can probably mix and match many things. I have an 85 2wd RC now, but Ive had both 83 and 87 vans.

The five things I can think of that dont match between the RC and a Van are:
[ol][*]the Air Cleaner housing,[*]the wiper linkages(motor is the same),[*]the windshild washer tank,[*]the power steering box -pump is the same, bracket is different, and[*]The seat base on the van is more upright -the one for the RC is more angled.[/ol]I imagine that the RC and a PU no issue for those same parts.

For the body I believe the doors from a PU back to 74 will fit, but you loose a bit of door skin stying when make the switch, it isnt noticable unless you know to look for it.

JCW only sells front floorpan replacements for the RC - under your feet, not under the seat.
that is all that comes to mind right now.
