How Replace Ramcharger Windshield Trim
On Ramcharger, how do you replace the "chrome-look" rubber windshield molding/trim that surrounds the front and rear windshields? I see there's a metal clip at the bottom center that's removable to access the trim, but how do you remove the old molding/trim and then insert/thread/wind the replacement chrome-look molding into the flat tube surrounding the windshield? Does the trim just slide in, perhaps with soap or other lube, or do you need to thread a wire through the flat tube, connect one end of the wire to the trim end, and then pull the other end of the wire until the trim is fully in place?
04 Diesel - easy DIY project: just get as much of the seal as you need(sold by body parts supply houses by the foot, aftermarket only), and push it into the current gap to fill that gap, doing so naturally by removing the chrome piece at the bottom middle of the windshield. Too small a piece might not fit tightly, so I'd either replace the entire seal, or at least about 6 inches of the seal so it squeezes tightly against the remainder of the existing seal.
I take it it you still have a RC; mine is 1987 w/383K miles; yours?

Thankyou, I have a 76 W100 PowerWagon club cab.
When I owned my 84 Ramcharger, I had the same issue, took care of it this way, but you have to be very careful: Get a spay bottle with soap/water, start on the bottom center and spray the heck out of the gasket and start the strip, then keeping the rubber soaped up, use a rubber mallet to gently "tap" the strip in. Worked like a charm, did not bust my windshield.
