Ramcharger, Trailduster & Power Wagon Grrrr!! Tough Trucks! The Dodge Ramcharger and Plymouth Trailduster were full size SUV's that had good looks and brute strength. The Dodge Power Wagon was comparable to them in toughness, but came in pickup truck form only.

Default 1969 Dodge 300 truck transmission question

I have a 69 Dodge 300 with factory mount Chinook Camper 75,000 orig miles
383 727 torkflight
I'm told very rare.
Original gears were 488 I changed them to 411
Bought the rig in Calif, and moved to Fl in 2005. The truck pulled a loaded 30 ft cargo trailer across country W/O any problem.

Once here, I seldom drove the rig except for washing.

About 6 mo ago I went to drive the truck to a car wash and in about a block or two I noticed the trans slipping bad. The more I drove the worse it got. Finally got it home and parked it. Now when I start it up just to run it once in a while the truck wont move at all in any gear.

I'm stumped. I don't see leaks any where. Could sitting for a long time done damage? I'm told maybe the front pump. Could the torque converter be the problem? I'm stumped.

Anybody got any Ideas?

It always ran perfect before this.
