88 rc 318
Yes the Summit 6901 a slight lope is not a "lumpy cam"! I appreciate the concern but I can assure you the engine is on point. In a 318 with that dur at .050 with the 114 lsa equals a 318 with a slight but noticable lope, probably equivalent to a 340 cam in a 318.
This is a quote from one of the reviews ".great mid range and high end power" Back when i built the motor for my power wagon I put in a Mopar performance cam. It was designed for low to mid rpm performance. No lope but it did what i was looking for, Low to mid rpm power.
340 is still a "LA" motor witch are all the same(318,340, 360). If you are speaking about the TA/AAR 340's they are different but still interchangeable. If you are looking for lope advance the timing, It may mimic a lope but driveability will suffer.

A review? Another review quote says I have a 4 wheel drive van with 37" tires and this cam works and sounds great. So opinions vary. It works great and sounds great in mine too. It would be a great choice for the OP's engine. From my experience not a review.
Of course the 340 is an "LA" engine, but the 68 -70 340 had a more aggressive can, it was and still is a common swap, to use the 340 cam in a 318. T/A/ AAR engines have some unique features but are still interchangeable, not sure why that was referenced. Advancing it to get it to lope? You can advance it four degrees at the cam to bring the power range down slightly, but it won't effect idle quality.
To the OP it's just my 2 pennies. The Summit 6901 is probably what you're looking for. You will also need to get a calibration kit for your Edelbrock. And dial in your timing curve. Good luck with it.
