85 ram charger will not start
Hello fellow dodge owners
my 85 dodge ramcharger will not start up, it will turn over but thats it..
i let it sit about a month without starting,, i replaced the battery with a new one,,
i tried several attempts by pumping the accelerator continously, i tried
putting a little in the carburator, neither will work... it ran fine before i let it sit..
the battery was about to die.. so i went ahead and replaced it but nothing happens..
i would appreciate any suggestion before i send it to my mechanic which i would love
to bypass if possible.. any suggestion would be greatly appreciated

Gasoline doesn't always work. Try shooting some starting fluid or brake cleaner into the carburetor. Are you running Champion spark plugs? They are great plugs but if you flood them, they won't fire. If your plugs are good and it still doesn't start, you may have an electrical issue. I believe you still have the ballast resistor on your firewall. try jumping across it with a wire. They are a weak point on the Mopar ignition. I always carried a spare back in the day in my toolbox wrapped in a paper towel. If the car has a lot of rust, I'd clean under the brain box and make sure it grounds to the body well. You don't have a computer, just an engine controller.
