1985 ramcharger starting issues
hello
my 1985 ramcharger will turn over but not start up, it ran great last week, no issues, tried to start this morning.
nothing happens, new battery, full tank of fuel, lights, radio everything works,, what could it be

Shoot some starting fluid or FLAMMABLE brake cleaner into the carburetor. If it runs a bit then dies, you have a fuel problem. If it doesn't hit a lick, you have a spark problem.
If it's fuel, check to see if it getting fuel at all. Pull the throttle bar and see if any fuel squirts into the carburetor. A lot of fuel pumps don't like ethanol and it eats the diaphragm up.
If there's no spark, check for power on both ends of the ballast resistor. I've seen those fail and it's a simple thing to replace. They were so bad back then, I always carried one wrapped in a towel in my tool box.
