You make a very good point.

The air filter on the 17K test was a K&N and the silica content was only 11. That goes against your argument.
Yes 17K to get dirty but he also has bypass filtration that goes down to 2 micron there is no doubt that it would be a lot worse with only a standard oil filter.

Silica values where high at 12ppm.

Just out of curiosity, when are you going to post pics of your 2009 in the sticky?

Dont have one yet, here for research into the 4th gen trucks. I have a 2007 Duramax right now but I am looking at jumping ship in 2010 when the new bodystyle 2500's come out.

Hence the Duromax forums.

We all love this truck. It has a few quirks, but over all it is turning out to be a real winner.

My dad has a 2007 Cummins 3500 and he loves it. It is his first diesel, work truck only, and he drives it a few hundred miles a month. He has not had one problem with it.

My buddy has a brand new 2009 crew cab with every option but the backup camera. I really dig the interior of the 4th gen's, dodge went above and beyond. The thing drives like a car compared to my 2500 and the ventilated seats are a god send here in arizona. No more swamp ***!

Come on 2010!

well guys im sorry but it seems they couldnt get me the dyno sheets

i picked the truck up today (cleaned) and he said that the dyno results were so varied that they actually need even more time with the truck.. but i had to take it.

they said the HP was sometimes around 260-300... but he said some days it was a lot higher.. some days lower...

it was done on a mustang dyno

they couldnt figure it out...

i mentioned maybe the cylinder deactivation had something to do with it and he had a look on his face like he had an epiphany... its like a light bulb lit up above his head.

so point... i dont know what the actaul output is... but while i was there i saw thier brute force intakes and i must say they look real tough..

maybe when they send me my CAI (with extra filter) i will go to a chassis dyno to get real results

That is very odd. MDS should not be coming on on a full throttle dyno run.
