Default Gear Oil

I was wondering what type of gear oil my truck would take. It's a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport 5.9 Magnum 4x4 with a rear diff of 3.55.

Welcome to DF!

Gear lube.... 80W90, or, if you tow/haul a lot 75W140. Also need to pay attention to if you have a limited slip rear or not. If you do, you also need the friction modifier to put in there.

Look on the sticker under the hood. It will say "DSA(code #) limited slip differential)" if you have it.
