Default 2001 Dodge Ram sport question

So I picked up an 01 Ram 1500 sport from an auction.
It's the 2wd extended cab with the 5.9
I was underneath it last night checking things out and I noticed something strange..
The front suspension does not have a shock or strut installed.
Every vehicle I have ever owned has had either a shock or strut up front.
I mean it rides great, better than my 03 Silverado..
So my question is, is this normal or what??

It is nice and picked it up cheap..thanks
Was at junk yard today and seen another dodge similar to mine and it didn't have any shocks in it either.. And normally shocks aren't something bought used from junk yards

That is a nice looking truck!

Wish I knew something about your suspension, but I don't. All of my trucks have been 4wd...

I mean it doesn't make sense to me..
So either the previous owner took them off
and decided not to replace them or they just fell off lol

Seems to me the ride would rather bouncy without shocks....... According to the 01 service manual, they should be right next to the springs, going up thru the upper control arm...... I should think that if they were there, they would be impossible to miss.

You really do want shocks on there though, otherwise, you get a strange ride, and even stranger tire wear.
