I wish. It’s halfway under the cab, which partially obscures the pump. Have to drop tank.

That's a shame on Delphi going to China. Carter also makes a decent fuel pump.

Got the test gauge. Pump seems okay, but then again, it's been starting without issue the past few days. Overall, the thing holds steady at 45 PSI or so.

Key turned to ACC (Engine warm, recently driven) = 44 PSI
Start & idling = 45 PSI
Holding @ 3000 RPM = 45 PSI
Holding @ 2000 RPM = 45 PSI
Blipping throttle hard = needle blips to 50 psi for split second and returns to 45 PSI

Sitting....
Key off = 45 PSI
15 min later = 44 PSI
1 hr later = 35 PSI

So my thinking is, the pump passed the tests and the injectors are not bleeding down fast. This was all with motor recently driven. Will try again with cold motor tomorrow. Wish I could get a pressure reading when the damn thing is not starting but it's starting fine now. Thoughts or suggestions?

Edit: According to this...I'm barely at minimum passing pressure. https://easyautodiagnostics.com/chry...he-fuel-pump-2

Pressures look good. At least, right now..... Might be a temp sensor as well.

Coolant temp sensor was replaced 6/4/18 @ 290K, Mopar unit.

I just love mysteries (rolls eyes). Gonna try replacing my fuel pump relay and ASD relay. Got a bag of spare relays and what not from the JY.

Edit: Replaced pump relay, couldn't find ASD.

Got same readings upon cold start this morning. It’s a wrap. Tester says my pump is good, so I took it back this morning. Hopefully it was the fuel pump relay spazzing out, which I've now replaced. Truck starts good... for now.

46 PSI is fine. Anything above 40 is functional.

Well, I'll close this thread out by saying I really believe it was the pump relay all along.

Ever since replacing it, the trucks starts without a hitch, as it normally has. Glad I rented that fuel pressure tester before blowing a wad of cash + time and effort on something that would not have fixed the problem.

My father was the most mechanically UN-inclined person you would ever meet. However, he always told me to check the cheap and simple fixes first.

Yeah. With the miles on this truck, it was easy to think the pump had reached EOL, but it soldiers on.
