instument panel removal
Hey guys, My question(s) are... 2005 dakota SLT crew cab, 3.7L, auto trans, 2WD. I need to replace my heater core. Ive disconnected the a/c lines, the heater hoses, removed all the crap from the front, the sides, and the top of the instrument panel, now, does the steering column have to be completely REMOVED, from the vehicle? OR, can I just lower it, so I can get the panel out? And if so, what is the procedure for just lowering it? Do I have to pull the wheel, airbag clockspring, etc. anyways? PLEASE HELP ASAP! Thanks ( Im new to the site, hope this is posted correctly.) I know what the manual SAYS, I need to know what I can GET AWAY with!

I had an 89 Ford Bronco II that was super easy, just a few bolts under the dash on the passenger side to get the cover off, and the core slid right out. Easiest one I've ever seen. Wish they were all like that. I hate these engineers sometimes 😡
