Default MSD ignition is it worth it?

Local guy is selling a MSD 6A ignition box and blaster 3 coil with the adapter harness for a 96-2003 Dodge Ram. I was wondering is it really worth it? I know it Sparks more but according to what I was reading in the higher rpms (3500 and above) the stock ignition is better. Just some thoughts or opinions?

Yeah, it's multi-spark below 3K RPM, makes for quick starts, and smoother idle. However, it beats up coils and spark plugs. (consider that most of the engines life is spent below 3K RPM....) Had one on my Firebird for a while, aside from the smoother idle, I didn't notice any performance difference.

Also, in my humble experiences, not as reliable as the stock system. I've had more than 1 MSD box crap out on me, which required it to go back to MSD for rebuilding.

I'm going to give it a shot as it's pretty cheap and reading some say it wakes the engine up
