Recently bought a 98 5.9 I'm going to be swapping into another truck it already has a hughes intake a 4barrel carb fits on top. Can I just plug the injector holes or will I have to buy a different intake
Should be able to just plug the injector holes. Bear in mind, in 93 a fair bit changed on the 5.9, and the older version has a different intake bolt pattern.
Might consider selling off that one and buy a new one meant for use with a carburetor. I'm thinking the design will be a different and will perform better. You might even make a couple bucks on the swap.
I believe the Hughes Airgap and the Hughes FI Airgap are the same casting... The FI version has the boss for the injector ports drilled out, where the other doesn’t.

Yeah, now that you say that... that does sound familiar. Not sure Hughes builds the best intake, and I think the Airgap FI kit is considerably more what a carb intake costs... from memory. I think its still worth running to ground.

Hughes doesn't even make their own intakes, Edelbrock actually makes them.
