Default Sport headlights

Hello everyone. I'm Mike. I recently bought a 2001 2500, 4wd, 5.9L/24V, Sport model, and I'm working on headlights.

Are both bulbs in Sport model dual bulb headlights supposed to light up on Low Beam setting? Mine are not. Only the outside 9007 bulbs do. The inside 9004 bulbs only work on High Beam setting.

Since the 9004 bulb has two filaments, and the wiring harness connector has three prongs, it seems obvious that the 9004's should light up on Low Beam. I wish I knew someone nearby with a Sport, so I could look at theirs.

No you only get all 4 bulbs to light up on high beam

Thank you, MoparFanatic. I was hoping that's the case. Now I can decide how to proceed. Probably a Brite Box.

That's it a way to go out just use simple relays

Do not power all the headlights at once via the headlight switch. Use the switch to control relays, and that's it. Otherwise, you will overload the switch, and bad things happen.

Thank you, HeyYou. I'm definitely using relay(s). I have a Brite Box ordered. I know it's supposed to keep the low beams burning when lights are set to high beam. What I don't know is, will the BB have the low beam on the inside bulbs (9004) burning on low beam setting. If not, I'll tie a relay into the low beam wire on the outside bulb (9007), to trigger the low beam on the inside (9004) bulbs. Of course I'll pull power direct from the battery. I'll probably also use a LMC type headlight harness. I have those on my '79 F150 and CJ7, and they make a big difference.
