I am replacing the rocker arms and need to rotate the camshaft, how do i do so? I have only removed the valve cover and the rocker arms and lifters I can get to. I have a few that are compressed that I need to access.
If you removed the timing chain (say, for a camshaft change), what you could do is put a rag on one of the cam lobes, and use a large adjustable (Cresent) wrench to rotate the camshaft a bit. But, don't remove the timing chain just to rotate the cam. You would regret that.

Remove the spark plugs. You can then rotate the engine easily. Possibly by turning the pulley's on the front of the engine. The only extra thing you need to do is if you have a manual transmission, put it in neutral.
