Default 2500 Dodge Ram 5.7 power wagon

Things I need to know before I start removing things to replace lifters and cams? Thanks and what to do to make easier?

It’s 2012. It starting making a noice and it wasn’t a pulley or the belt so I took to get check out at my dealership and they had told it was from the cams and lifters.

Ok, that seems reasonable. There is probably a write up on that job somewhere out there on the internet..... but, it's a cam and lifters, probably the process hasn't changed much in 50 years. Just more stuff to dig thru to get to what you really want. Mark/label EVERYTHING. Makes reassembly MUCH easier.

Yeah I just label some of the things otherwise I understand the rest. Right now in the process of taking out both of the heads. And thanks

What happens with those is a lifter get stuck and grinds its cam lobe down - so there is going to be alot of metal in your block. I'm sure someone has detailed the process to clean it out - I wouldn't want to have to disassemble the whole block and have it hot tanked.

Well documented on the internet, alot of people going through that issue. Chrysler is well aware of the problem, yet no cost relief for the owner. Its obvious they had a design or supplier problem.

Now would I have to drain the oil and remove the oil pan?
