LoL I have lived near Memphis for 30+ years. I have been there more times than I have any other town/city adjacent to where I live. But I have never heard it referred to as Memfica lol! Good one.

 

thats what its goin to . when folks started referring to Libertyland as 6 flags over Orangemound is when it made its name change. that and when our dumb @$$ mayor started acting like he was king of the world.

 

Yep your mayor has problems. Smart guy, but bad decisions. Memphis is in an economic crunch. He pissed a lot of people off when he removed Memphis from the responsibility of providing education for the county children. And the school system itself was being penalized (fined) for using teachers that haven't earned thier certification. But nobody that is qualified wants to teach there.

Then there is the whole downtown development thing. The Pyramid just didn't become the icon it was intended to be.

Oh well, I don't want to pretend I know more than I do, but there are other things I have listened to Memphis citizens talk about that are just downright unfair to them.
