North East of Nashville.

About a year ago, a lady in a red 2nd. Gen Ram with a baby girl helped me to push a Geo off the road when it broke down.
I just want to say thank her.

Saw this sig, and couldn't resist: "IF THE BASS IS TOO LOUD UR TOO OLD"

I'm old, and still play bass in a classic rock band, and sometimes a country band (gets confusing sometimes...), anyway, I'm pushing a 35 year old ( newest) Rickenbacker Bass through four 200 watt Marshall stacks eight 10" speakers per stack, and four Sunn 200S heads each driving two JBL D140F's and two Altec 425's.

My practice amp is an Ampeg SVT with with 2 bottoms (one with 8 10" speakers and the other with 2 15's)

The synthisized boomy bass that car audio system put out is more of an assult because of the poor quality of the new DC powered amps used in cars, than because of the volume. Also, very few people actually take the time to match the speakers to the power of their systems, or even bolt everything together tight enough as not to make the car (or truck) sound like a rattle trap driving down the street.

However, I do agree that a well thought out, built, and maintained sound system sounds great!
