Default Deciding on a lift for my dodge ram?

Hey im new to the forums and will do a search because this question has probally been brought up in the past, but i have a Dodge ram 2500 diesel. I am looking to lift it 6 inches and have looked into some kits but what do you guys recomend? I use my truck for light use and tow cars mostly and small trailors. What is the best bang for the buck kit? I was looking into the tuff country kit because it will just raise the truck and still be able to tow and and drive the same correct? but at the same time i curious if i switch to a progressive rate coil spring will the ride be smoother and less bouncy ? I just would like to research or have some peoples input or expierience before i buy one. Thanks in advance
Brian

I'm not sure what you mean by "just raise... still be able to tow and drive the same. I know that all lifts will do pretty much the same thing, but use different ways. Tuff country is cheap, but that says something about quality sometimes. 6" is alot if you still want to tow stuff efficently(extra wind drag and tire size will affect performance greatly) You may need to change gear ratio. I am in the process of choosing a lift for my 05 3500 single rear wheel but will likely stay with 4" and 35s to enable me to pull my 35' toy hauler easily. Most lifts use blocks in the rear and replacement springs in front. although some use replacement springs in rear(such as skyjacker) I feel your pain when making this choice because it depends on what the place your dealing with sells as to what they push you towards. Don't just look at the price.

hey pt, yours sounds like what i want, i have an '07 3500 dually, i will be getting a toyhauler and want to lift the truck a smidge, but mainly in the front, i'm looking at a 2" lift kit "equalizer" that are made by readylift, two plates that bolt to the top of the shock tower gets rid of the rake on the front.

I have a Superlift on my '03 2500 with blistiens and dual front steering stabilizer. I got a really goot deal from 4wheelparts.com at a show back in April and have been happy with it ever since. But i would say that if you are going to be doing a lot of towing I would stick with a 4" lift and 35's. Still very functional and gives the truck a tougher look
