Why oh why did I buy a 1500? If I had known that it would be soo expensive tp lift it I would have bought a 2500 instead. Does anyone have any suggestions? Would it be better to swap the front end with a solid axle and then lift it like a 3/4 ton? I want to go at least 10 inches. Does anyone know anything about Full Throttle Suspensions?</P>

Hello,</P>

Swapping to a solid axle is hard to keep within a reasonable budget. Unless money is no object then go for it!! It would cost way more to go solid axle on your truck than to use any of the lift kit companies. You did not mention if your truck is 4wd or 2wd, but I assume its a 4wd. Full Throttle kits are just like any lift kit company, you will hear good and bad from people. From what I have expierienced they are pretty good. They make a pretty good tall lift kits for newer body style trucks. I plan on putting one of those on my truck as soon as I install my new ball joint replacements. My truck is a 2wd, I opted to go 2wd because it is what people are asking me forand buying now. At least that way I dont have to worry about drive line angles. Hope this helps. </P><edited><editID>cloud9ms</editID><editDate>38021.9470833333</editDate></edited>

Thanks for the info. Yes, money is definately an object. I want to go 10" , but I am also concerned about drive line angles. My truck is a 4x4. My brother has the same truck and he lifted his 6" with ProComp (not ENOUGH).

I would go with the Full Throttle kit. It will definately be cheaper than going to a straight axle. FYI I am a new advertiser and vendor on dodge forum now. Let me know if you would like to get some pricing on the Full Throttle kit. Take care.

Hey Ncapadona, do you know how they compensate for the drive tran angles. Like I told you before that my brother got the ProComp 6" (which is actually only about a 4"), and his front drive shaft looks like it is about to break because of the angle. I am considering a Superlift 6". What do you think about that kit, and what kind of a price could I get it from you for? I do not want problem down the road so any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello ezhemi,

I dont know if you were writing to me or Ncapadona about the Full Throttle kit and such, but I tell you anyway. The Full Throttle kit utilizes a dropped subframe to compensate for the lift. They drop the front differential and the rest of the front suspension so that your front driveshaft will not be too bad. In some cases you may need a replacement driveshaft to compensate for taller lift kits. The ball joints are what I would worry about for now, the Dodge units are pretty weak but should be ok if you dont launch your truck in the air, and keep it aligned proplerly. I found a way to eliminate the ball joints with custom made hiem joints instead of the traditional ball joints. I will give you price for the available lift kits for your truck later tonight. Take care.
