Want to Buy: 1960-62 Valiant
I drove a 1961 Plymouth Valiant in High School and would like to find another one. Preferably a 2 door post sedan. I'll consider other years in the first generation production and will also look at a 4 door, 2 door hardtop or a wagon. It doesn't need to be pretty. It doesn't need to run as long as it's mostly there. It DOES need to have a solid undercarriage. Especially where the torsion bars go into the floor. The more complete the better.
I am retired so I'm not rich, so no gold plated chassis please. (i.e., reasonably priced) I may have something to trade, that varies so I may or may not. You can contact in one of three ways. PM through here, email at yanktanks@aol.com or via phone at eight one two-423-two one four two. I'll try to remember to bump this ad to keep it active. Thanks.

I found this one.
There are some out there, but, I couldn't convince the ads to load. It seems that 63 and up are fairly easy to find, but, finding anything at all under 10K is a bit rare.
Most I find are in pretty good condition/restored, and are well north of 15K...... one was 125K.... Ouchie.

I got it to load but it's not a whole car. It's a shell sitting on a frame from something else. There is no bottom to the car and it wouldn't really be a first generation Valiant. I did find one ad, but they want nearly 10K for it and it was partially modified.

Paint it black and you'd have what I drove in school. Between the distance, price and modifications, I don't want that particular car that bad. It's actually a decent car around town, but really miserable on the highway. I don't think I'd take it on the interstate. In later years, I got a '64 Chrysler 300K because the front looked the same. I also had a '73 Plymouth Duster I bought because it was black and had a 6 banger and stick shift. They just aren't the Valiant with the memories it had.
Do a search on 60-62 Valiant, and all sorts of ads will come up, on a host of different sites. (Search Tempest will search craigslist for you, at whatever range you give it.) I found LOTS of ads, but, very few of them were under 10K.
Search Tempest is where I found the ad I posted. I saw one a couple of years ago in Cincinnati but I was still working and the GF always had plans for my vacation time. I'm in no rush. Maybe I'll hit the lottery and can find a restored one.
Well, the one in Tucson has dropped by 25%. It's still too far and too much, but they are getting more reasonable. At least it looks solid with a lot of surface rust but no tinworm.
There are companies that will deliver cars, for reasonable rates......

I'm in S.W. Indiana where Indiana give Kentucky and Illinois a wedgie. I've shipped cars to Australia and the rates back then varied from $600 to $1400. The car is more than I can afford and too far away to look at. I'm not going to waste their time.
